The day has passed; one bag of donated blood is done by her twin sister. The following day, Olivine decided to swing by the flower shop to have a bouquet of flowers and a fruit basket with several chocolates. A tiny, stuffy pink bear holding a heart on its chest she placed on top of the basket.
Arriving at the hospital, she went directly to the information counter. Feeling the excitement seeing Katarina, she headed to the elevator, pressing the button to its floor number.
A tiny bell rings, waiting for the elevator door to open. Taking her pace, counting the room numbers where Katarina is recovering. Olivine starts her heart pounding on her chest; she came so nervous. She felt almost dragged her feet as the room number came closer and closer. Deafened her ears, but all she can hear is her heart pounding, feeling so anxious and nervous. A gentle knock she made. Making herself pleasant and presentable.
"Olivine," Katarina's mother said, opening the door wide open. She instantly smiled at her.
"Good morning, ma'am," Olivine replied, holding herself and looking sincerely at her.
"Come in," she said.
Olivine follows her towards the end of the hospital bed, where Katarina is lying and recovering.
"Thank you for saving my daughter," she said sincerely, holding her hand and smiling.
"Pleasure to help her, ma'am; she's my sister's employee," Olivine said, taking her hand and gently shaking. Staying casual on her.
The smile on her face didn't leave seeing her having a warm welcome of her. Olivine is holding herself the gestures she showed her.
"Uh? I have some flowers and some fruits and chocolates," Olivine said.
"Uh? Don't mind the stuff toy, ma'am; it's from the chocolates, including it's purchased," Olivine said, coming it clean on it in case she might wonder.
Standing fewer steps away from Katarina's hospital bed, where she's peacefully sleeping.
"You don't have to make this effort, Miss Olivine; you're supposed to have a rest," Felicia said while she was holding the flowers and placing the fruit basket on the near table.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't able to calm myself about what happened," Felicia said.
"No, it's all okay; everyone is in distress in the situation," Olivine said, looking at her and back to Katarina's.
"Uh...how is she now?" she asked, almost holding Katarina's hand, but instead she formed a fist and hid her hand quickly. Holding herself back in front of Katarina's mother.
"As for now, she needed blood—two bags of blood; yesterday her twin Kristina donated and needed one more just in case," Felicia emphasized.
Walking towards Katarina's bedside, they both stared at her peacefully sleeping.
"If she didn't follow me on the bar, she won't end up like this," Olivine said, wearing guilt on her face.
"No, no, don't blame yourself, Miss Ferguson; Aiden abuses her for a long time," Felicia said without leaving her sight laying in there.
"My daughter was so excited when Miss Ofelia Ferguson's became her employer and responded to the application letter she applied." Felicia looked at Olivines, staring at Katarina.
"She saw that as an opportunity to escape away from him. Miss Ofelia gave her hope, and Katarina had that chance," Felicia continues. Her mother explained, wiping her face, tears running from it.
"I'm so sorry, Miss Olivine; you get hurt by Aiden too; he isn't supposed to," she said, looking at her.
"You shouldn't be involved in this in the first place." Felicia stood there, looking back and forth to her daughter lying in bed and to Olivine standing on the opposite side of the bed, looking at Katarina.
"If you wanted to press charges on him, you have my support," Felicia said to her.
"What is her blood type?" Olivine asked, shrugging the idea of filing charges against him. Olivine hasn't thought of it.
"She had the same blood type as her father's, and he's not in our lives anymore; he passed away a long time ago," Felicia said.
"Her twin sister has the same blood type, and she did donate yesterday," she added. Felicia is still with the weariness on her face.
"What type of her blood?" Olivine asked out of her curiosity and willingness to help.
"Type AB+ and that kind of blood is not that much in common as what the doctor discusses," Felicia said, taking a seat, and she still is not leaving her eyesight to Katarina.
"If you allow me, ma'am, I can donate," Olivine offered.
"Call me Felicia, Miss Ferguson," she said, cutting the formalities and the awkwardness between them.
"And you can also call me Olivine," Olivine said, waiting for her approval.
"We have the same blood type, including my sister's," Olivine said.
"Oh..." Felicia looked at her in surprise, covering her mouth and both hands, walking towards her, but she ended up hugging Olivine.
"I hope all the alcohol is completely gone away from my system for me to be able to donate," Olivine said.
