Olivine stood, leaning on her left shoulder on the baby's arched room door. Both hands were placed in her trousers pocket. watching Maddison's back breastfeed facing the little baby's crib, waiting until she fell asleep.
Folded arms and lead again, admiring how committed Maddison is to being a mother. The person she met before is a different person than the one she's looking at right now. Observing her, looking at the baby who's sleeping on her arms peacefully. Maddison seemed to be living at peace with the baby. The baby is healthy and contented; she is calm, not giving tantrums.
"Can I put her in the crib?" Olivine walked closer towards her. Standing on the side of the bed where Maddison sat on the end part.
"Okay," Maddison said, covering her chest with a piece of cloth before she pulled the baby gently. Knowing the milk will burst everywhere.
"Careful, she might awake..." Maddison gently handled the baby in her arms.
"Oh, she's so heavy," Olivine whispered, placing the baby on her tiny, comfy little bed, pulling covers on her, and she started for a moment, watching peacefully sleeping.
"I'm so sorry for everything, Olivine. I am truly sorry..." Maddison stood in front of her.
She noticed she is like a different person in front of her. Remembering how she was when they first met. She assumed all the threats she faced every day when they were together in the past. She isn't able to share and talk about what's going on, aside from being avoidant; they didn't meet in a day.
She's always making excuses and busy traveling. Olivine made sense of what she told, that she's in pursuit. Taking leads, who these people are. She cannot help it, thinking we have silent battles in ourselves.
"You have reasons, Maddi," Olivine replied, looking at her.
Maddison sat beside her, leaning her forward. Shoving her face on her neck, feeling the warmth coming from her. She leans her body on Olivine, holding her gently.
Olivine slowly untangles herself away from Maddison and starts leaving the baby room, but Maddison tags herself along with her, following Olivine in the hallways.
Maddison decided to tag her at her bedroom, letting her sit on the side part of the bed. Sitting in front of Olivine's lap, holding her neck with both of her hands, looking at her.
"I just missed you so much, Oli..." The endearment of her name has never faded between them.
"I don't care anymore; after this, you will go back to Katarina. It's fine by me," Maddison said with her words.
"Since I left, I didn't have any. I promised to myself I would never find love. The way I felt from you, not this kind of love again," Maddison said, taking her walls down in front of her.
"I decided to have your child all by myself, raised her...with that I can redeeming myself despite of everything i did..." she continues.
Olivine noticed the thin scar on her stomach, thinking she had given a C-section to the baby, hugging her to comfort her and wiping the pain away. Watching Olivine, her eyes were so lost, and she had enough. Maddison let herself hug Olivine's head on her chest.
"I have no one in this world I can call on my own, Oli..." she said.
"You have the baby and Sin and — " Olivine paused looking at her.
