I stepped into McGillicuddy's dimly lit atmosphere, anxiety gripping my chest. The smell of stale beer and worn leather enveloped me. Lucy sat in the corner, nursing a whiskey on the rocks. Her gaze locked onto mine, a sly smile spreading across her face.
"Julian," she purred, her voice dripping with malice. "Right on time."
I slid into the booth, my hands clenched into fists. The weight of Lucy's blackmail threatened to suffocate me. "What do you want, Lucy?" I demanded.
Lucy's smile grew, her eyes glinting with triumph. "You know exactly what I want, Julian. End things with Lexi. For good." Her words hung in the air like a challenge.
I shook my head, desperation creeping in. "Can't do that." Lucy's eyes narrowed, her expression cold. "Sarah will be interested in these photos," she threatened, pulling out her phone.
My stomach twisted, bile rising in my throat. Pictures of Lexi and me, captured in intimate moments. "Delete them," I growled.
Lucy laughed, the sound grating. "Meet my conditions, or they go public. Simple as that." Blackmail. Pure and simple.
