LEXI

Days passed, and I struggled to process my emotions. Julian's deception had left me reeling. I felt betrayed, unsure if I could ever trust him again.

We'd shared so much, but apparently, not enough.

I wandered around my apartment, feeling lost. My mind raced with questions.

Can I forgive Julian?

Do I want to?

The doorbell rang, breaking my reverie. It was Mark, Julian's business partner.

"Lexi, I know this isn't a good time, but I need to talk to you," Mark said, his expression serious.

"What is it?" I asked, curiosity piqued.

"Julian's in a tough spot. Sarah's appeal is gaining traction, and his reputation is suffering. He needs you now more than ever."

I sighed, torn.

"Mark, I care about Julian, but he lied to me. I don't know if I can trust him again."

Mark nodded sympathetically.

"I understand. But consider this: Julian's not the same man who made those mistakes. He's grown, and he loves you. Don't give up on him yet."

Mark's words echoed in my mind long after he left.

Was I ready to forgive Julian?

Could I take that leap of faith?

I took a deep breath and picked up my phone.

"Julian?" I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Lexi?" Julian's voice was laced with hope.

"We need to talk."

"Whenever, wherever," Julian replied. "I'll be there."

I smiled, a glimmer of hope rising.

Maybe, just maybe, we could rebuild our trust.
