JULIAN

Tuesday arrived, and my heart raced with anticipation. I hadn't seen Lexi since the long weekend, and every moment felt like an eternity. Our designated spot, a secluded park, welcomed me with familiarity. Lexi's smile illuminated the surroundings as I enveloped her in a tight hug.

"I missed you so much," I whispered.

"Missed you too," she replied.

Our lips met, rekindling the flame. We strolled hand-in-hand to Lexi's apartment, our haven.

As we settled in, my phone buzzed. Lucy's name flashed on the screen. My gut twisted.

The message contained a photo of Lexi and me from 20 minutes ago. A chill ran down my spine. Lucy had been watching us.

"End it with Lexi within a week, or Sarah gets this photo," the text read.

My world crumbled. Blackmail again.

"Julian, what's wrong?" Lexi asked.

I forced a smile.

"Just work stress."

But my mind reeled. End it with Lexi or Sarah? Impossible choices.

Lexi's hands wrapped around mine.

"I love you," she said.

"I love you too," I replied.

But Lucy's threat loomed, suffocating me.

Could I sacrifice my love for Lexi to protect my marriage?

Or would I risk everything for a chance with Lexi?

The clock ticked, and Lucy's deadline drew near.
