I walked into Lexi's apartment, feeling liberated.
"Hey," she said, smiling.
"Hey," I replied, pulling her close.
"I told Sarah about us," I said.
Lexi's eyes sparkled.
"And?"
"She's processing," I said. "But she asked me to keep our relationship private until after the pregnancy."
Lexi nodded understandingly.
"I get it," she said.
"I promise, once the baby's born, we'll go public," I whispered.
Lexi smiled.
"We'll make our own announcement," she said.
For now, our love remained a secret.
But in each other's eyes, we saw a future.
