Ch-78

It had been a long time since Arushi had visited her maika (maternal home).so Finally, on a Saturday evening, Arushi, accompanied by Aditya, decided to visit her parents and spend some quality time with her family.

As they entered the house, Mehar, seeing Arushi, ran towards her with open arms. The sight overwhelmed Arushi, and her emotions brimmed over. It felt like just yesterday when Mehar used to be nestled in her arms, barely able to lift her tiny hands, and now here she was-running, laughing, and growing so quickly. Time, indeed, was fleeting.

The family gathered for a small get-together, their laughter echoing in the warm home. As usual, Mehar ended up in Aditya's arms, playing with his watch-a habit that brought endless delight to both. Arushi chuckled as she remembered how she had teased Aditya earlier, warning him not to wear the watch since Mehar would insist on playing with it. But Aditya, ever the doting fufa ji, had worn it on purpose, just to see Mehar's eyes light up .

Later, while Arushi and Mahi were in the kitchen pouring cold drinks, three-month-pregnant Kavya sat nearby, listening to their chatter. Watching Aditya's playful antics with Mehar, Mahi couldn't help but joke, "It's time you gave him his own Mehar. What do you say, Kavya?"

Kavya smiled knowingly, nodding in agreement. "Think about it,Kavya, and Mitali is already pregnant and if you also got pregnant then, we'll have babies everywhere in the house!" Mahi teased, laughing at the thought.

The laughter subsided when Arushi suddenly fell silent. A thought had struck her -it had been over a month and a week since her last period. Her face betrayed her inner turmoil, and both Mahi and Kavya noticed.

Mahi quickly served the drinks and then take Arushi and Kavya in the room and talked.

"Arushi, what's on your mind?" Mahi asked gently.

"I... I just realized my periods are late," Arushi admitted hesitantly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Mahi and Kavya exchanged a glance, their excitement bubbling up. "Then let's get it checked! And if it's true, you can give Aditya a wonderful surprise!" Mahi suggested, her voice filled with enthusiasm.

The three of them decided to visit the hospital the next day which is Sunday under the guise of a shopping trip. The plan was set.

As they met near the hospital and began walking toward it, their conversation flowed naturally, filled with quiet excitement.

Unbeknownst to them, someone nearby had overheard their words. Whether a well-wisher or a silent foe, known or unknown, no one could say. Yet, the shadow of their attention lingered, unnoticed but unsettling.

Meanwhile, Aditya, who had been informed about the change in plans by the security, called Arushi in concern. "Why are you all at the hospital? Are you okay? Wait there-I'm coming!"

They knew it is going to happen as a matter of Arushi's safety so they planned something in advance.

"I am fine Aditya ji" Arushi is able to just say this much and handed the phone to Mahi. "Aditya ji, don't worry. Aru is fine. We're here for my check-up. It's a surprise for Kundan and the family, so please don't tell anyone." She hung up before he could argue further, leaving him with no choice but to trust them and return to work.

At the hospital, Arushi go through the process and waited for the result.

Arushi's heart raced as they awaited the test results. The anticipation turned to disappointment when the report came back negative.

They consulted the gynecologist, who explained that it might be too early to detect pregnancy and suggested waiting a few more days while managing stress with yoga and meditation which can be the reason for delay in periods as well.

The trio tried to lighten the mood on their way back, indulging in Arushi's favorite food and joking about the endless opportunities ahead. "Plenty of chances left!😂😂" Mahi laughed, and Arushi couldn't help but smile at their efforts.

They all make excuses that they didn't like anything so they didn't bought anything.

That night, Aditya, noticing Arushi's subdued demeanor, asked casually, "How was Mahi's check-up?"

"It was negative," Arushi replied, her voice neutral but her thoughts swirling.

Aditya nodded silently, but his unusual quietness piqued her curiosity. Gathering courage, she asked, "Ji... have you ever thought about having children?"

"And before you start , I just wanted to know, you know random question "Arushi added just a second after knowing well that he will tell her that she doesn't need to feel pressured and to focus on career.

Aditya looked at her, surprised by the question. "I... I never really thought about it," he admitted.

His response startled her. She had always seen how much he adored playing with Mehar. "Why? We're married. You must've thought about it at least once," she probed gently on the bed, beside him, holding his hand.

Aditya hesitated before responding, his voice laced with vulnerability. "When Mumma was pregnant with Kavita, I saw how much pain she went through-throughout the pregnancy and during delivery. It was long, exhausting, and painful. " He paused.

"I don't want to see you go through that." His hand cupped her cheek tenderly as he confessed his deepest fear.

Arushi was taken aback, unsure of how to respond. Aditya's protectiveness tugged at her heart.

"Arushi, I need to confess something," he said suddenly, breaking the silence. "In this world, the only thing that scares me is seeing my family in pain. The thought of you or anyone being hurt terrifies me."

She nodded, understanding the weight of his words.

Again suddenly he asked with tension " you periods are coming fine na "

Arushi just nods her head to see his reaction as at that vulnerable moment she does not know what to tell him.

" I was worried, I have read the first period after first sex is very very painful. It always stops..." He stopped in the middle but Arushi already heard him and by joining the dots she reached the conclusion as she asked" Aditya ji , is that why you were not ready to consummate our marriage "

Aditya Cannot lie to Arushi, his eyes are saying that whatever Arushi is saying is the truth.

" You already get heavy painful periods , I was wondering how much it will pain you after we get intimate" he explained

Normally Arushi is the one doing overthinking but now Arushi gave him a side eye look as how much overthinking he does for this matter.

Then she replied so that he get comfortable.

And decided to let her pregnancy news get confirm then she will talk about it to Aditya.
