Ra's Al Ghul is a villian who had been around for hundreds of years. Ra's believed that the evils of humanity were a blight on our planet and sought to extinguish them through whatever means that he deemed necessary.
Soon, he formed The League of Assassins and he manipulated world events to achieve his own ends. That frequently put Ra's into conflict with Alex one of the very few adversaries that he deemed worthy enough of himself.
Although most of Ra's power came from his immense influence, he was also a formidable combatant, having the benefit of many lifetimes worth of experience and accumulated skill. Ra's achieved his immortality through the ancient Lazarus Pit which he discovered six hundred years ago and uses the pit to resurrect himself.
Ra's also used the Lazarus technology to create Wonder City decades ago, however a civil war in the league sparked which resulted in the city being destroyed and since then, its been abandoned.
Alex was once a student of Ra's during his training in becoming the Batman, however once he found out about Ra's plans, he left the league and joined the union of hope.
Both of them were standing in the destroyed city as Ra's dashed towards the vigilante and stabbed his arm using the sword as he was in pain until Ra's said something to him.
Ra's: You should have killed me when you had the chance!
Alex gritted his teeth in anger and hit a headbutt on Ra's before hitting a side kick, causing him to go flying towards the ground.
Alex removed the sword and was holding his injured arm as he threw the sword at Ra's but he jumped and grabbed the sword mid air as he smiled at the vigilante.
Ra's began hitting a series of strikes on the Batman but Alex blocked the incoming attacks before he hit a surprise attack on the villian.

Ra's kicked Alex as he stepped back and tried to slice him using the sword but Ambrose blocked the attack using his gauntlets before he punched Ra's in the gut which stunned him before Ambrose followed it up with a uppercut, causing him to walk back.
