Izuko groaned as her alarm blared, signaling the start of yet another college day. She was still reeling from the relentless teasing in the group chat last night. It didn't help that she had Sarah smirking at her through the entire conversation. After forcing herself out of bed, she got ready, threw on her favorite oversized sweater, and grabbed her bag.
As she made her way through the halls of the college, she heard someone call out to her.
"Yo, Izu!" It was Aysh, grinning ear to ear.
Izuko sighed. "Please, Aysh, not today."
Aysh laughed. "Oh, come on! You know you love us giving you a hard time. Anyway, you survived the weekend. How was it seeing your girl again?"
Izuko rolled her eyes, trying to suppress the blush rising to her cheeks. "She's not my girl."
Just then, Sarah walked up from behind, throwing her arm over Izuko's shoulder like it was the most natural thing in the world. "Who's not your girl, Izu?"
Izuko jumped, eyes widening. "No one!" she squeaked, shooting a glare at Aysh who was cackling like she'd just heard the funniest joke.
"Sure," Sarah smirked, clearly enjoying every second of Izuko's flustered state. "You're making it too easy, Izu."
"Let's just get to class," Izuko muttered, pulling away and trying to speed walk down the hall. Sarah fell into step beside her, as if the teasing was all part of their morning routine now.
Later, in Class
Izuko tried her best to focus on the lecture, but every time she glanced at her phone, a new message from the group chat appeared, and it was chaos as always.
Aysh: Bet Sarah's sitting close again. You blushing yet, Izu?
Jenna: Can we talk about how cute you guys are together? It's ridiculous.
Izuko: Please don't start this again.
Nya: Too late, you're never getting out of this.
Avy: Facts. We need to see you two kiss already.
Izuko groaned. She was about to respond when her phone buzzed again.
Hannah: Wait, what? Kiss?! I missed something major!
Mia: Fill her in, guys. We need to bring Hannah up to speed.
Riy: Sarah and Izuko have this whole flirtation thing going on. We're just waiting for the fireworks to really pop off.
Hannah: OMFG, why am I the last to know? This is HUGE.
Izuko could feel her face heating up, but the teasing didn't stop.
Aysh: Izu, just give in already. Sarah's totally into you.
Izuko: We're just friends, stop making it weird.
Jenna: Friends who flirt constantly and make each other blush. Yeah, sure.
Sarah: She's blushing right now, actually. It's adorable.
Izuko shot Sarah a glare from across the room. Sarah just winked at her, completely unbothered by all the teasing.
After Class
The group gathered in the college courtyard, lounging on the grass under the trees. The teasing hadn't let up, and now they were all throwing ideas around about Izuko and Sarah.
"I still think you two should go on a date," Nya said, smirking. "Make it official."
Izuko shook her head. "We're not dating, okay? Can we just drop it?"
"You say that," Avy chimed in, "but the way you act around her says otherwise."
Sarah, lying casually on the grass next to Izuko, nudged her shoulder. "They're not wrong, you know."
Izuko narrowed her eyes at her. "Don't start."
Sarah chuckled, eyes glinting with mischief. "Oh, I'm just getting started."
And Izuko knew she was doomed.
