Izuko's POV

The week following the picnic felt like a whirlwind. Every time Izuko saw Sarah, her heart did a little flip. They had become even closer since their picnic date, sharing secrets and inside jokes, and Izuko was convinced her crush was becoming impossible to hide.

It was Friday, and they were all gathered in the library, preparing for the upcoming school project. The atmosphere was a mix of focused energy and playful banter, especially from Aysh and Riy, who were in the middle of a mock argument over the best superhero.

"I'm telling you, Spider-Man is the best!" Aysh insisted, crossing her arms.

"Please! Wonder Woman could totally take him down," Riy shot back, rolling her eyes.

Izuko laughed as she watched them. It was moments like these that reminded her how lucky she was to have such an amazing group of friends. Sarah was sitting beside her, their shoulders brushing against each other, making it hard to concentrate on anything else.

"What about you, Izu? Who's your favorite superhero?" Sarah asked, turning to face her.

Izuko's heart raced. "Um, I don't know... maybe Iron Man?" she replied, trying to sound casual.

"Iron Man? Really? Just because of the suit?" Sarah teased, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Izuko felt her cheeks heat up. "No! I mean, I like his character. He's smart and kind of a mess, like me!" she joked back, feeling a little braver.

Sarah laughed, her eyes sparkling. "A mess? Nah, you're perfect just the way you are."

Izuko's heart skipped a beat. Did she really just say that? She quickly looked down at her notebook, trying to hide her blush.

Sarah's POV

As Sarah watched Izuko's flustered reaction, she felt a thrill of excitement. The way they joked and teased each other was something she cherished, and the little moments they shared were starting to feel significant.

But what made it even more special was how effortlessly they connected. Being around Izuko felt right. Sarah knew she had to do something about it, but every time she tried to drop hints, she worried she might scare Izuko away.

"So, what's the plan for this weekend?" Jenna asked, interrupting Sarah's thoughts.

"I was thinking we could all hang out at my place and have a movie marathon," Sarah suggested. "Popcorn, candy, and all the cheesy movies you can handle!"

"Count me in!" Aysh said, bouncing in her seat.

"Sounds fun! I'll bring the snacks!" Riy added enthusiastically.

Izuko looked at Sarah, her eyes shining with excitement. "I'm in too! Just tell me what to bring."

"Just bring yourself! You're the main attraction," Sarah blurted out, her heart racing. She quickly looked away, hoping no one had caught her slip.

"Oh, you're smooth!" Aysh teased, wiggling her eyebrows.

Izuko's eyes widened slightly, but Sarah noticed a small smile creeping onto her face. "Yeah, smooth as a brick," Izuko shot back, but her smile betrayed her.

Sarah couldn't help but smile back. She felt like she was on a rollercoaster of emotions, and every twist and turn only made her more eager to find the right moment to confess her feelings.

Izuko's POV

As the group continued to chatter, Izuko couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and excitement about the movie night. Being around Sarah felt electric, and she wasn't sure how much longer she could keep her feelings hidden.

After the planning session wrapped up, they all decided to go outside for a quick game of tag. It was silly and fun, and Izuko found herself running around, laughing as she tried to avoid getting tagged by Jenna.

Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Gotcha!" Sarah exclaimed, laughing as she playfully shoved her.

"Hey! No fair!" Izuko protested, trying to catch her breath.

Sarah just grinned and sprinted away, making Izuko chase after her. As they ran, Izuko couldn't help but admire how carefree and beautiful Sarah looked in that moment. It made her heart race even faster.

As the game continued, Izuko found herself tangled in a heap with Sarah after a failed attempt to tag her. They both lay on the grass, breathless and giggling.

"You really thought you could catch me?" Sarah teased, looking down at Izuko with a playful glint in her eyes.

"I was close!" Izuko argued, biting back a grin.

In that moment, lying side by side, Izuko felt a sudden wave of warmth wash over her. She could feel the tension, the chemistry, but she still needed time to process it all.

"So, movie night?" Sarah asked, propping herself up on one elbow and gazing at Izuko.

"Yeah, sounds perfect," Izuko replied, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety.

"Just so you know, I'm definitely picking a rom-com," Sarah said, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Of course you are!" Izuko laughed, rolling her eyes playfully.

As they lay there, their laughter ringing in the air, Izuko realized that maybe she didn't need to have everything figured out right now. Just enjoying the moments with Sarah was enough—for now.
