Izuko's POV
Izuko stretched her arms as her phone dinged—again. She rubbed her eyes and saw that her friends had blown up the group chat. Apparently, this morning was all about their grand plans for the day. She yawned, feeling the chaotic energy through the screen.
Group Chat: "Squad Central 🌟"
Jenna: Alright, what's everyone wearing tonight? I refuse to be the only one serving looks.
Nya: Same here. If I see anyone in sweats, you're getting unfriended on sight.
Izuko: Hold up—y'all are gonna make me change out of my pajamas? 😭
Avy: Honestly, I support Nya. It's a look cute or go home night.
Riy: I'm down for whatever, as long as Aysh doesn't roast my outfit again. Last time, she called me a "walking art project gone wrong."
Aysh: And I stand by that, Riy. If your outfit looks like a rainbow threw up, I will say something.
Sarah: Can we all agree, though, that tonight's going to be chill? No more dares that involve singing or screaming in public?
Mia: Seconded. Avy already dragged me into enough PDA last week.
Izuko stifled a laugh. Her friends were absolutely wild when they got together, and tonight sounded like it was going to be just as chaotic as usual. At least Sarah seemed calm about it, though she knew that probably wouldn't last.
Later That Day - Cafeteria Moments
Izuko made her way to the cafeteria, spotting Sarah sitting at their usual table, looking effortlessly stylish with her cute glasses and signature don't mess with me expression. She raised an eyebrow as Izuko approached.
"You look like you're ready to start a riot," Sarah teased, smirking.
"Oh, trust me, that's the plan," Izuko shot back, taking a sip of Sarah's drink without asking.
Sarah laughed, grabbing her cup back. "If you wanted my coffee, you could've just asked, you know?"
"What can I say? I'm the queen of mystery and intrigue," Izuko replied, leaning back dramatically. "Stealing coffee, stealing hearts—it's all part of the brand."
"Right," Sarah said, rolling her eyes but smiling. "Just try to keep it together during the dare night. We don't need another incident like last time."
Izuko smirked. "What, you mean the time you dared me to dance on the cafeteria table?"
"That's the one," Sarah replied, laughing. "And honestly, I regret nothing."
Evening - The Dare Night Begins
Everyone was gathered in the common room, buzzing with energy and some nervous anticipation. Izuko looked around at her friends, catching Avy's eye and mouthing, Tonight's gonna be wild.
Nya clapped her hands together, her eyes glinting with mischievous energy. "Alright, people, ground rules: no backing out, no complaints, and if you get embarrassed, that's your problem."
"Yeah, yeah, Nya," Izuko replied, "but let's not pretend you won't be the first one to run off screaming."
Nya crossed her arms, pretending to look offended. "Me? I never run. I strut."
First Dare: Jenna vs. Aysh
Nya smirked. "Jenna, truth or dare?"
Jenna grinned. "Dare, obviously."
"Okay then," Nya replied, grinning. "I dare you to imitate Aysh for a full minute."
Aysh's jaw dropped. "Oh, this is gonna be good."
Jenna cleared her throat and adopted her best Aysh expression, flipping her hair dramatically and pretending to hold an imaginary coffee cup. "You know," she said in a perfect imitation of Aysh's voice, "I don't really roast people. I just kindly point out their tragic fashion choices. I mean, what are friends for?"
The group burst out laughing, and Aysh shook her head, grinning. "Alright, alright. You got me."
Later in the Game - Nya and Izuko's Turn
The dares went on, each one getting wilder until it was Izuko's turn again. She eyed Nya with a challenging smirk.
"Nya, truth or dare?" she asked, eyebrow raised.
"Dare, obviously," Nya replied confidently.
Izuko grinned, a wicked glint in her eye. "Alright, I dare you to prank call our English professor. And you have to use a fake accent."
The group gasped in delight as Nya's eyes widened. "You're evil, Izuko. But fine, I accept."
Nya pulled out her phone, dialing the number and putting it on speaker. She cleared her throat and put on the worst British accent they'd ever heard.
"'Ello, Professor! This is, uh... this is Veronica. I'd like to inquire about the nuances of Shakespearean tragedy." Her fake accent got more outrageous with every word, and everyone covered their mouths to keep from laughing out loud.
The professor sounded utterly baffled. "I... I'm sorry, who is this?"
Nya barely kept it together. "I'm your biggest fan, Professor! Absolutely adore Hamlet!" She hung up as the whole room exploded into laughter.
A Quiet Moment with Sarah
After a while, the night started to wind down. Izuko found herself leaning against Sarah on the couch, her head resting comfortably on Sarah's shoulder. Sarah looked down, a smile playing on her lips.
"Feeling tired?" Sarah asked softly, brushing a strand of hair from Izuko's face.
"Maybe a little," Izuko murmured. "But this was... perfect. Everyone was perfect."
Sarah nodded, wrapping an arm around her. "It was, wasn't it? But if I hear one more terrible British accent tonight, I might have to switch schools."
Izuko chuckled, closing her eyes. "Just be grateful you didn't have to hear my Australian one. Nya dared me once, and it was so bad that Jenna cried."
They both laughed, and in that moment, everything felt simple and right. They stayed there, close and content...
