Izuko's POV

Izuko sat in the coffee shop, staring at her untouched cup of caramel macchiato. She'd been trying to concentrate on her French homework, but the little doodles filling the page proved how well that was going. Just then, the door swung open, and in walked Sarah, her confident stride and casual smile turning heads.

Sarah scanned the café until she spotted Izuko. With a teasing smirk, she walked over, sliding into the seat across from her, eyes sparkling with that mischief that always left Izuko feeling... well, something.

Sarah: "Studying French, huh? Didn't know you were planning on sweeping someone off their feet in another language."

Izuko rolled her eyes, fighting back a smile. "Just brushing up on my skills. Not everyone can charm people effortlessly."

Sarah, leaning in: "Who said it was effortless?" She dropped her voice to a playful whisper, "It takes a certain amount of skill. But I think you know that by now, right?"

Izuko's cheeks turned pink, and she quickly looked down, pretending to review her notes. Sarah just chuckled, clearly amused by the flustered look Izuko tried to hide.

Izuko: "Don't you have, like, an essay to work on or something?"

Sarah, shrugging: "Oh, I finished it. Thought I'd spend some time distracting someone who looks like they need a break." She casually reached across the table, tapping Izuko's notebook, her fingers lingering for a second too long.

Izuko glanced up, meeting Sarah's intense gaze. She felt her heart skip a beat, and as much as she tried to brush it off, she couldn't ignore the thrill that Sarah's presence always stirred in her.

The Coffee Shop – Tension and Teasing

Sarah picked up her own coffee, taking a slow sip while her eyes never left Izuko. She set down her cup and tilted her head, her expression one of pure challenge.

Sarah: "So... I heard you were telling Nya you missed me as your bestie. Just bestie stuff, or is there something else you've been holding back?"

Izuko felt her face heat up. "First of all, that was a dare, and second, no comment." She crossed her arms, but Sarah's smirk only grew wider.

Sarah: "Uh-huh. Sounds like a guilty conscience to me."

Izuko, trying to stay cool: "Sounds like someone's fishing for compliments." She shot back, feeling a small surge of satisfaction as Sarah's eyebrows lifted, clearly impressed.

But Sarah was quick to regain her footing. She leaned forward, her gaze locking onto Izuko's. "If I wanted compliments, I'd ask for them. But I'm more interested in what you won't say."

Izuko swallowed hard, her eyes darting to the side. "What are you even talking about?"

Sarah, with a grin: "I'm just saying... I'm here, you're here, and maybe it's time we get honest with each other." Her voice dropped again, a playful spark dancing in her eyes. "Because if I remember right, you're a pretty terrible liar."

Back to the Group Chat – Everyone Picks Up on the Flirting

Izuko's phone buzzed, and she was thankful for the distraction. She glanced down, seeing messages flooding in from their group chat.

Avy: Hey, where'd you two disappear to?

Jenna: Bet they're on another "study date."

Aysh: I think they're pretending to study but are probably staring into each other's eyes or something. 😏

Riy: Sarah, don't go too easy on her; we like our Izuko with a bit of sass still intact.

Izuko laughed, turning her screen to show Sarah, who just smirked as she read the messages.

Sarah: "Well, now we have to give them something to talk about." She leaned in, her voice low but teasing. "Maybe I'll just lean over and..."

Izuko blinked, feeling a flush rise on her cheeks. "You wouldn't."

Sarah just raised an eyebrow, a wicked smile tugging at her lips. "Oh, I would. And I just might if you keep getting all flustered every time I look at you."

Izuko rolled her eyes, trying to hide how her heart raced. "You're full of yourself, you know that?"

Sarah, laughing: "Confident, not full of myself. But I could show you the difference, if you're interested."

Izuko shook her head, a smile finally breaking through her defenses. She was about to say something witty when the barista called Sarah's name for her snack. As she got up, Sarah shot her one last grin.

Sarah: "Hold that thought. Don't go anywhere." She winked before sauntering to the counter, leaving Izuko flustered and smiling all at once.

Later – A Stroll Outside

After their "study session" wrapped up, Sarah suggested they take a walk. The afternoon sun was warm, and they found themselves strolling through the park, chatting and occasionally teasing each other like they used to.

Sarah: "So, what's your plan for the rest of the day? More French?"

Izuko sighed. "Maybe. I mean, I do want to get better at it."

Sarah grinned. "Well, if you ever need a practice partner, you know where to find me." She paused, giving Izuko a look that could only be described as flirtatious. "Or, if you want, I could just teach you a few things... up close."

Izuko couldn't help but laugh. "Oh really? And how do you think that would help me learn?"

Sarah stopped, turning to face Izuko with a smirk. "Oh, I have my ways." She leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper, "But you'll have to trust me."

Izuko's heart skipped a beat, and she found herself speechless for a second. But she quickly recovered, smirking back at Sarah. "Maybe I'll take you up on that... but don't get too excited. I don't go easy on my teachers."

Sarah, with a chuckle: "Good. I'd be disappointed if you did."
