Sarah's POV:
As the credits rolled on the second movie, Sarah couldn't help but glance at Izuko, whose eyes were fixed on the screen but whose attention seemed elsewhere. The soft glow from the screen highlighted Izuko's face, the slight curve of her lips, and the subtle blush that hadn't faded since the start of the night. Sarah smirked inwardly; she loved seeing her like this—caught between comfort and the thrill of the unknown.
"So," Sarah said, breaking the silence and leaning closer. Her voice dropped to a husky whisper. "Is the movie the best part of tonight, or...?" The unspoken question lingered, and Izuko turned, eyes wide, clearly trying to process the tone of Sarah's voice.
Izuko bit her lip, and Sarah's gaze followed the movement, unable to hide the way her own lips curved into a smile. "Or what?" Izuko managed to say, her voice barely above a whisper.
Sarah leaned in just a bit more, their faces close enough that she could feel the soft warmth of Izuko's breath. "Or this," Sarah said, brushing a gentle kiss on Izuko's cheek, lingering just long enough to make her intentions clear.
Izuko's POV:
The room felt warmer all of a sudden, or maybe it was just Izuko's heart racing in her chest. The soft kiss left a trail of heat on her cheek that made her stomach flip in the most confusing, wonderful way. For a moment, she couldn't think, couldn't speak, couldn't do anything but stare at Sarah, who had that signature playful smirk.
Izuko's hand unconsciously moved to touch the spot where Sarah's lips had been, a small, surprised smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "You're... relentless, you know that?" she said, her voice soft but laced with a teasing tone.
Sarah chuckled lowly, eyes still locked on hers. "Only with you."
The quiet that followed wasn't awkward but filled with an unspoken understanding. Izuko knew that whatever this was, whatever they were tiptoeing around, it was real, and maybe it was time to stop pretending she didn't feel the same electric pull whenever Sarah was near.
Nya's POV (earlier, after Izuko left):
Nya watched the door close behind Izuko and couldn't suppress a grin. She was sure that tonight would be interesting. Sarah had a way of drawing Izuko out of her shell, and Izuko had that quiet charm that softened Sarah's edges.
"Good luck, Izu," she muttered, sinking into the couch with her phone. The group chat pinged, and she saw Aysh had sent a gif of someone nervously biting their nails.
"Any bets on how tonight's movie night goes?" Aysh had typed, clearly unable to resist stirring up playful drama.
Nya smirked as she typed her response. "Let's just say, Izuko might come back with stories."
Aysh's POV (at home, waiting for updates):
Aysh had been tempted to text Izuko a dozen times already. The suspense was killing her, but she knew her friend well enough to give her space. Besides, she trusted Sarah to make her move. Aysh could only imagine how their night was unfolding, with Sarah dropping her confident, husky lines and Izuko's nervous giggles in response.
She put her phone down, smiling to herself. "Tonight's the night," she whispered, hoping her friend would finally take the plunge.
