Aurora lay nestled in bed with Leah, the soft morning light filtering through the curtains, illuminating their cozy sanctuary. With her heart fluttering in excitement, Aurora was just about to hit "post" on Mateo's birthday message when Leah stirred beside her.

"Should we wake him up? Everyone's gonna be here soon," Leah suggested, propping herself up on one elbow to glance at the clock.

Aurora chuckled softly, a playful glint in her eyes. "Yeah, we should, but... it is his birthday."

Leah raised an eyebrow, contemplating the dilemma. "Maybe he should sleep in a little longer. It's not every day you turn one, after all."

Aurora nodded, her smile widening as she sank back into the pillows. "Exactly! Let the little man enjoy his beauty sleep."

Leah, ever the mischievous partner, rolled over, pulling Aurora in for a lingering kiss that sent warmth coursing through her. "While he's sleeping, we should celebrate you as well," Leah whispered, her intentions clear.

Aurora laughed, her cheeks flushing as she gently pushed Leah away. "No, baby, not today. Today is all about Mateo."

Leah feigned disappointment, throwing her hands up dramatically. "Boo! You're no fun!" But she couldn't help herself and leaned in for another kiss, their lips brushing softly together.

"How are you feeling about posting his birthday message?" Leah asked, her voice tender as she brushed a strand of hair behind Aurora's ear.

"I don't know," Aurora admitted, glancing down at her phone, the screen aglow with the heartfelt message. "I turned off the comments, so I won't know how people feel about it yet."

Leah shrugged, her grin mischievous. "I'll turn mine off too, then."

With that, Leah quickly posted her own birthday tribute, and Aurora leaned over to read it. A grin broke out across her face as she teasingly remarked, "What happened to just 'simple happy birthday, little man'?"

"Shut up," Leah shot back, playfully rolling her eyes.

"It's cute, amor," Aurora replied, unable to suppress her laughter. She felt her heart swell with love, knowing that both of them shared this beautiful journey of parenthood. Their playful banter only deepened the connection they shared, as they both anticipated the joy of celebrating their son's first year of life together.
