TW: suggestion of being spiked
Aurora sat on her bed, her thoughts consumed by the recent distance Katie had put between them. It had been bothering her for days, and finally, she decided to reach out to Ella, hoping for some clarity.
After a few rings, Ella answered. "Hey, Aurora! It's been a while since we talked. How's everything?"
"Yeah, it has been," Aurora replied, trying to keep her voice steady despite her unease. "I've been okay, but I wanted to ask you something about Katie."
Ella's tone shifted slightly, sensing Aurora's seriousness. "Sure, what's going on?"
"I've noticed Katie's been avoiding me lately," Aurora admitted, feeling a knot tighten in her stomach. "I'm not sure why. Has she said anything to you?"
There was a brief pause on the other end of the line before Ella responded thoughtfully. "Actually, she did mention something about a week ago. She said there was some issue at training, but she didn't go into details. Maybe that's why she's been distant?"
Aurora nodded to herself, trying to piece things together. "Training... That could make sense," she murmured, grateful for Ella's insight.
"Yeah, maybe," Ella agreed gently. "I wish I knew more to help you understand."
"No, it's okay, Ella. I appreciate you telling me," Aurora said sincerely. "I'll talk to Katie and try to sort things out."
Ella sighed softly. "Good idea. She probably just needs some space or time to work through whatever happened."
"Thanks again, Ella," Aurora said gratefully. "We'll catch up soon, alright?"
"Definitely," Ella replied warmly. "Take care, Aurora."
"You too. Bye," Aurora said, ending the call with a sense of determination.

Determined to get to the bottom of things, she drove over to Katie's house, her heart pounding with a mix of anxiety and frustration. Parking in front of Katie's familiar home, she marched up to the door and began banging on it insistently, then pressing the doorbell repeatedly until Katie finally appeared, looking surprised and slightly irritated.
"Whoa, Aurora, you're gonna break the door down," Katie joked weakly as she opened the door, trying to lighten the tension.
Aurora didn't find it funny. Her expression was stern as she cut straight to the chase. "Why have you been avoiding me?"
Katie hesitated for a moment, her attempt at humour falling flat. "I haven't been avoiding you," she protested defensively, but Aurora just scoffed in disbelief.
"You have," Aurora insisted bluntly, her frustration bubbling over. Without waiting for an invitation, she pushed past Katie and walked into the living room.
Katie sighed audibly, her irritation palpable as she sarcastically muttered under her breath, "Come on in then."
Aurora stood firm in Katie's living room, her patience wearing thin after demanding answers about why Katie had been avoiding her.
"I know something happened at training," Aurora pressed, her tone edged with frustration. "Why are you avoiding me?"
Katie sighed deeply, her irritation palpable. "Oh, Leah told you then," she muttered, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
Aurora furrowed her brow, taken aback. "No, Ella did," she clarified, confusion lacing her words. "But why are you mentioning Leah? Oh my god, Katie, don't tell me something happened with Leah."
