Chapter 29 : Sweet Invasion

Ujjwal takes her to the gaming zone in the mall, wanting to see her smile.

"Ishika, do you know this game? It's ten-pin bowling."

"Hmm"

"It's been a while since I last played this game," Ujjwal says.

"Why?" Ishika asks as she sits down at a nearby table, her knees aching.

"Because every time I played, I knocked down all ten pins. Even with my eyes closed, I could still bowl a strike," Ujjwal brags.

"Really?"

"Yes," Ujjwal says, picking up a bowling ball. "Watch this, Ishika." And he bowls.

Intentionally, he doesn't bowl the ball properly to make her laugh. As the ball nears the pins, it veers off to the side, and not a single pin falls.

After boasting so much, Ujjwal looks embarrassed when not a single pin drops. Ishika, struggling to control her laughter, covers her face with one hand.

"It was a trial ball, Ishika," Ujjwal tries to cover it up.

He notices how she's beginning to giggle, his plan is working.

Ujjwal picks up the second ball and bowls again. The ball bounce one time before ending up in the adjacent lane, knocking down all the pins in that lane.

This time, Ishika can't hold back her laughter.

"I was helping the person in the next lane since he weren't knocking down any pins," Ujjwal says to save himself .

"So kind of you, Kumar," Ishika says, laughing.

Finally, he made her laugh.

After spending some more time at the mall, they head home.

"You freshen up first, Ishika. I'll put some bandages on your knees," He says, placing his phone on the table.

"Yes."

Ishika freshens up and changes into a night suit. When she comes out of the bathroom, Ujjwal is already sitting on the bed with bandages in hand.

"Come sit here on the bed, Ishika," Ujjwal says.

Ishika slowly walks over and sits down.

"Rest your legs up here," Ujjwal instructs.

Ishika follows his instructions.

"Now pull up your night pants," Ujjwal says, wanting to apply the bandages to her knees where she's hurt.

Ishika suddenly remembers that she didn't shave her legs. A wave of anxiety swirls in her stomach.

She worries that if Ujjwal sees her unshaved legs, he might never want to be close to her again.

She internally scolds herself for forgetting to shave.

"Pull up your night pants, Ishika," Ujjwal says, holding the bandages in his hands.

"Okay."

Ishika closes her eyes, not wanting to see his reaction.

Slowly, she pulls up her night pants.

Ujjwal notices the hair on her legs.

After pulling up her night pants on her left leg, she does the same with her right leg.

Then, Ujjwal gently applies the bandage to her left knee. Ishika lets out a slight "ahh" of pain, clenching the blanket with her fists.

Once the bandage is in place on her left knee, Ishika opens her eyes and looks at Ujjwal first.

Ujjwal then applies the bandage to her right knee as well.

"Now slowly pull your night pants down," he says.

Feeling embarrassed about her unshaved legs, Ishika pulls her pants back down.

"Let's sleep now," Ujjwal says, helping her lie down.

He pulls the blanket over her.

Then he moves to the other side of the bed and lies down in his own space.

Ishika feels bad when she sees that they are in separate blankets, and Ujjwal is keeping a noticeable distance between them on the bed.

"Why are you sleeping so far away from me, Kumar?" Her eyes are slightly moist, she needs him.

"If I sleep close, I might accidentally hit your wounds in my sleep," Ujjwal says honestly.

Hearing this, her anxiety fades away. Her eyes are still wet, but now it's from happiness.

She realizes that Ujjwal isn't disgusted by her unshaved legs. She's surprised that he didn't react at all.

She moves her blanket aside and slips into Ujjwal's blanket.

"You're invading my space, Ishika," Ujjwal says comically.

"Yes, I am invading," she replies, fully moving into his blanket.

Then, she kisses his chest and says, "And I've claimed your chest too." She rests her head on his chest.

Ujjwal can feel her breathe on his chest.

"I invaded and even claimed your chest, and you didn't even try to defend it. Why?" Ishika asks.

"When the invasion is this sweet, what can I do?" Ujjwal says.

Ishika chuckles.

"Ishika?"

"Hmm?" Ishika responds.

"Do you love me?" Ujjwal asks.
