Chapter 51: Her cheeks

Ujjwal gives Ishika a soft kiss on the cheek.

"Something needs to be done about your cheeks; they always distract me."

"Really, K?"

"K?" he asks, confused.

"Yes. From now on, whenever we're this close, I'll call you 'K.' The first letter of Kumar is 'K.'"

"Okay," he smiles.

The two leaves the house for shopping.

After placing orders for electric appliances and furniture, Ishika and Ujjwal head to shop for clothes.

Ishika first takes him to the men’s section. Together, they select formals for him.

He goes to the trial room to try them on, while Ishika waits outside. After each outfit, he shows it to her.

Ishika finds every outfit looks good on him.

Next, they pick T-shirts and track pants. Ujjwal asks for her opinion, choosing what she likes best.

When it comes to select his undergarments, Ishika steps away, a bit shy.

Seeing this, he approaches her, teasing, "You helped me select formals and T-shirts, won’t you help me with this too?"

She playfully hits him on the shoulder.

Laughing, he heads to the undergarments section.

Now, it’s Ishika’s turn. There are many beautiful kurtis, and she picks out several. She asks him to choose which ones he likes best for her.

She goes to the trial room to try them on. She puts on the first kurti and opens the door to show him.

Ishika looks so stunning in the kurti that he is momentarily speechless.

Assuming he doesn’t like it, she looks at the kurti and then at him.

"It looks amazing on you, Ishika," he finally says.

"Really?"

He nods.

After buying kurtis and leggings, they head to the nightwear section for her.

"This time, don’t get the T-shirt ones. Get the buttoned ones," he suggests.

"Why?"

"It’s winter, and I need warmth at night, Ishika. And you know what happened this morning, your kurti was getting in the way. If it has buttons, I can just unbutton it..."

She quickly looks around and whispers, "Shh... someone will hear."

Blushing, she starts looking at buttoned nightwear while he smiles to himself, imagining the night ahead.

"Didn’t you say he would leave her?" Shashank shows Sumit a live CCTV feed of the clothing mall where Ishika and Ujjwal are visibly happy together.

"Sir, I still can’t believe it," Sumit says, shocked at their happiness.

Noticing Shashank’s neutral expression, he asks, "Sir, aren’t you shocked to see them like this?"

Shashank shakes his head.

"Why, sir?"

"I already suspected it would bring him closer to her, not farther."

"That’s exactly what happened. But why?"

"Because he loves her," Shashank adds "Even if she turns out to be infertile, their marriage won’t suffer. And the same goes for Ujjwal. If he turns out to be infertile, Ishika won’t divorce him either."
