(Ishika's POV)

"Tell me, am I wrong?" I asked, looking at him. I needed to know his answer.

"N-No," he said softly.

I smiled. That was all I needed to hear.

For a while, we sat in silence.

"Ishika..."

I looked at him.

"You weren’t home for three days. I tried cooking once or twice, and that’s when I realized how exhausting it is to work all day at the office and then come home and cook, clean, and manage everything. It leaves so little time to rest, let alone for hobbies."

I nodded quietly, understanding his words.

"So, I was thinking... we should hire a maid. What do you think, Ishika?"

"Hmm... No, Kumar, I’ll manage everything," I said, even though I often feel extremely tired doing it all.

"Ishika... That’s what I don’t like. You never complain. If you don’t tell me, how will I ever know?" he said softly, his voice filled with care.

He adjusted his chair and looked at me. "Tell me honestly, don’t you feel tired working all day and then doing all the housework?"

"Yes, I feel very tired," I admitted, lowering my head.

"Then you can tell me, right? You can say, ‘Ujjwal, I get really tired doing all this work.’ Can’t you?" he asked, his eyes warm.

I shook my head.

"Kumar, I get really tired doing all this work," I said, correcting him.

He smiled.

"Good. Now listen, Ishika, we can afford to hire a maid, so let’s do it. It’ll make things easier for you," he said, starting to eat again.

"Okay," I whispered with a small nod.

For a long time, I had believed what others said- that I was a burden on you. That’s why I silently did all the work, never wanting to bother you.

But Kumar... you always prove them wrong, without even realizing it.

You’ve never judged me the way others do.

Your care... it fills my heart with so much happiness. I never imagined before our marriage that I would have someone like you as my husband.

"Ishika..."

It scares me to think about what my life would’ve been like if I hadn’t married you.

"Ishika..."

I snapped out of my thoughts. "Yes?"

"What are you thinking about? Eat your food," he said, handing me a glass of water with gentle smile.

I started eating.

"Kumar, I brought pineapples, strawberries, and grapes for you. You love fruits."

"Really? Where are they?" he asked, his face lighting up.

"In my bag," I said, pointing toward it.

"I want them now," he said eagerly, his excitement making me smile.

"Okay, but let me wash them first," I said, but before I could get up, he rushed to my bag, pulling out the fruits and heading to the sink.

"Kumar... I’ll do it. Why are you troubling yourself?"
