Ujjwal opens the door.

It’s Swara.

"How are you, bhabhi?"

"I’m fine."

"I came at this hour, sorry for the trouble-"

"No, bhabhi. We are so glad you came to visit." He says

Swara smiles.

She goes over to Ishika. "I came to check on your health."

"That’s sweet of you… I’m fine now. There’s nothing to worry about; no signs of infection."

"It’s good that there’s no infection," Swara says.

They all exchange pleasantries. The room fills with a caring atmosphere.

Ishika shows Swara all the clothes she bought today. Both look happy, chatting and admiring the clothes.

Ujjwal watches them and recalls how a relative once told him and his brother, Anay, before their weddings, "You two brothers never had a fight. But once you’re married, your wives won’t like each other, they’ll be jealous, and because of that, they’ll create fights between you two."

But Ujjwal is witnessing the opposite here. Swara and Ishika seem genuinely happy with each other.

Seeing Ishika and Swara happy makes him happy too.

After some time, Swara says, "I should go now."

"Bhabhi, why don't you stay here for tonight?"

"Yes," Ishika agrees.

Swara agrees after their insistence.

"You can sleep in this bedroom with Ishika, and I’ll sleep in the living room," Ujjwal says.

"In the living room? How?" Swara asks.

He gestures toward a rocking chair. "This chair is very comfortable, I’ll sleep on it."

Swara looks at Ishika, who nods.

"Okay," swara says.

"Good night." Ujjwal takes chair and a blanket and heads to the living room.

Placing the chair in the living room, he sits, wraps the blanket around himself, and leans back.

The chair rocks gently. His eyes close, but he misses Ishika and her warmth. It’s hard to sleep without her.

He was excited for tonight, especially for the buttoned nightdress Ishika was going to wear.

Somewhere, Ujjwal feels Ishika might come out to check if he’s sleeping well, so he keeps his eyes closed, waiting.

Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Ishika can’t sleep either. She remembers how she touched Ujjwal’s head and hands earlier- they were cold. She worries if he’s sleeping well, if he’s managed to fall asleep.

She waits for Swara to fall asleep. Once Swara is asleep, Ishika quietly gets out of bed and steps out of the bedroom.

Under the blanket, Ujjwal smiles when he hears the bedroom door creak.

Ishika sees him sleeping and slowly approaches. She gently pulls the blanket off his head. His eyes are closed.

She softly places her hand on his head, her hand warm against his cold head. She wonders what to do.

Ujjwal takes her hand from his head and places it on his chest.

Ishika’s eyes widen. "Are you awake?" she whispers.
