[Warning: Mild intimacy]

For a while, both sat quietly, with Ishika in Ujjwal's arms.
Ishika turned to him and said, "Shall I go to sleep now, Kumar?"
Ujjwal cupped her face in his hands and filled her cheeks with gentle kisses. "Yes, go."
Ishika felt adored.
She went to her bedroom, where she saw her mom sleeping peacefully on the right side of the bed. Ishika lay down on the left side. Ujjwal also went to the other bedroom to sleep.
Due to heavy rain, there had been a power outage since evening, so all the lights and fans were running on the inverter.
Around 2 a.m., the inverter started beeping, signaling an overload. Ishika woke up to the sound. The beeping soon stopped, and she figured Ujjwal had probably turned off his fan.
She got up to ask him to come sleep on their bed, as it was big enough for three of them.
She quietly opened the bedroom door and walked to his bed.
"Kumar," she whispered, softly caressing his head.
Ujjwal opened his eyes.
"Come to our bedroom. The fan there is on, and the bed is big enough for you, too."
Ujjwal got up, and they both went to the bedroom.
"You sleep in the middle, Ishika. I'll take the left side." He said
"Okay."
They lay down, facing each other.
"Come under my blanket, Kumar, and sleep comfortably."
"Comfortably?"
"Hmm."
Ujjwal slid under her blanket, rested his head on her bosom, and cuddled her.
"You told me to sleep comfortably, and I find comfort here."
She blushed and pulled the blanket over them. They soon fell asleep again.
At 5:30 a.m., the inverter battery ran out, and the fan stopped.
Feeling hot, Ishika lowered the blanket so she and Ujjwal wouldn't get too warm. But since the fan was off, mosquitoes started bothering them, so she had no choice but to cover themselves with the blanket again.
At 7:30 a.m., Sneha woke up, freshened up, and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
Ishika and Ujjwal were asleep, facing each other and cuddling.
Sneha realized that the sugar container was empty and didn't know where the spare sugar was kept. She decided to ask Ishika. As she entered the bedroom, she saw Ishika's blanket was puffed up.
Standing at the door, she called, "Ishika"
"Ishika"
Ishika opened her eyes and lowered the blanket just enough to reveal her face.
"Where's the sugar?" Sneha did not want to trouble them, but she had no other choice.
"There wasn't space below, so I kept it in the upper cabinet. Wait, I'll get it for you," Ishika said, embarrassed.
"Okay," Sneha replied, going back to the kitchen.
Ishika kept the blanket aside.
"Kumar," she whispered, waking Ujjwal.
"Kumar, wake up."
"Hmm?" he murmured, eyes still closed.
"Wake up, Mom was here and might saw us sleeping like this," Ishika said.
"So what?" Ujjwal mumbled, his sleepy voice muffled against her bosom, eyes still closed.
Ishika closed her eyes feeling his lips.
"Tell me, Ishika, so what?"
"I don't know how I'll face her now. What she must be thinking about us?"
"Probably just that her Ishika couldn't spend even one night away from her husband," Ujjwal replied.
"Would she really think that?" Ishika asked.
"Yes, and I'll say that Ishika asked me to sleep comfortably," he teased.
"Haayein! Haayein! , please don't say that," she pleaded.
He lifted his face, now his chin was between her bosom.
"Then what should I say, Ishika?"
Ishika looked down, cheeks slightly pink, he noticed.
"Just say you were feeling hot, so you came to sleep beside me," she said.
"Okay."
"Now, let me go, Kumar," Ishika whispered.
Ishika was enjoying it, and she wanted to spend such moments with him, but now she would have to go outside.
"Why?"
"I need to get the sugar from the top cabinet for Mom," Ishika replied.
He looked at her chubby cheeks for a while, then dipped his face between her bosom.
Ishika let out a soft moan "Mmm,"
Ujjwal finally let go of the cuddle. Ishika got up, straightened her nightdress, and, blushing, left the bedroom.
She went to the kitchen and handed the sugar to her mom.
"Okay, Ishika, you can now go back to bed," Sneha said.
"No, Mom, I'll help you make breakfast."
"I'll manage. You go back to sleep, especially since you both probably have the day off due to the waterlogging," Sneha replied.
"Still I'll help you."
"Okay, go freshen up first," Sneha said.
After a while, they all sat down for breakfast.
"There's so much waterlogged where you live. When I came home yesterday, water was dripping from the ceiling also ," Ujjwal said.
Sneha nodded.
"You live there alone. Why don't you just stay here with us?" Ujjwal said, taking a bite of his breakfast.
Ishika smiled.
Sneha thought back to how she'd intruded on Ishika and Ujjwal's private moment in the morning and felt bad. She realized if she stayed here permanently, they'd never get to be fully comfortable.
"No, Ujjwal. If I stay here, you two won't have your space. I even disturbed your sleep this morning," Sneha replied.
"It doesn't matter if our sleep was disturbed. Don't worry about it. In a few days, we'll move all your things here," Ujjwal said, and Ishika agreed.
"No, Ujjwal," Sneha insisted.
Ujjwal thought about her mother-in-law's reluctance and suddenly had an idea. "Then let's get a place for you nearby," He said, looking at Ishika.
"Okay," Sneha finally agreed.
