Chapter 7: Humiliation

Ishika finds comfort in hugging Ujjwal. She wanted to stay in his arms longer, but she ended the hug thinking Ujjwal might feel awkward. However, Ujjwal wasn't actually feeling awkward.

A call comes in on the landline from Ujjwal's aunt. She asks why he hasn't answered his phone.

Ujjwal explains that he left his phone at the office today. The aunt mentions that she and Ujjwal's other aunt are coming over to meet him and his wife tonight.

Surbhi and Saarika are Ujjwal's aunts. They couldn't attend Ujjwal and Ishika's wedding because they were already out of town, so they are coming over tonight to meet Ujjwal and his wife.

Today, Ishika and Ujjwal got home late from the office, and Ishika got her periods, so Ujjwal decided to order food from the restaurant.

Ishika agrees.

Ujjwal freshens up and goes out to get food from a restaurant.

Ishika is experiencing period cramps. She cleans the dining table and sets out dishes and water. After that, she sits on a chair because she is in pain.

The doorbell rings, and Ishika goes to answer it, finding the aunts have arrived. She invites them in and takes their blessings.

Surbhi asks why she is touching her feet. Surbhi says that Ujjwal and his wife will seek their blessings. Ishika thinks they might not have recognized her, so they don't realize she is Ujjwal's wife.

Ishika asks them to sit in the living room and, with a smile, tells them she is Ujjwal's wife. Surbhi and Saarika look shocked, and their expressions reveal disgust. Seeing this, Ishika's smile fades.

Surbhi tells Saarika how dark Ishika is. Saarika wonders how Ujjwal agreed to marry her. Hearing this, Ishika feels deeply hurt, as she is standing right in front of them.

Surbhi speculates that Ujjwal must have been forced into the marriage, otherwise, Many beautiful woman have been ready to marry our Ujjwal. Ishika's eyes fill with tears.

Saarika says Ishika will never be able to make Ujjwal happy in bed. Surbhi adds that not only will Ujjwal never want to engage in such activities with her because he must find her disgusting, but he probably doesn't even sleep in the same bed with her.

Surbhi and Saarika start laughing.

Ishika wipes her tears. Saarika tells Ishika that when guests come, they should at least be offered water.

Ishika immediately goes to the kitchen to get water, her steps slow. Tears continue to flow as she tries to hold back her sobs.

When she slowly returns with the water, Surbhi asks why she is moving so slowly. Ishika explains about her period. Surbhi annoyed.

Saarika, in a harsh tone, tells Ishika to go away from their sight. Ishika moves slowly toward the bedroom.

Surbhi asks where she is going. Ishika replies, "To the bedroom." Surbhi questions why she is going to Ujjwal's bedroom, implying that Ishika should not disgust Ujjwal and should go elsewhere.

Ishika heads toward the storeroom. With every step, her heart feels heavier. Her face is downcast.

As she moves toward the storeroom, she hears Saarika's voice from behind, saying to Surbhi that Ujjwal must be stuck with a pitiable wife. Surbhi suggests that Ujjwal will either divorce her or keep her just to do household chores.

Tears blur Ishika's vision. She reaches the storeroom and can no longer control herself, starting to cry quietly. The storeroom is small.

Ishika repeatedly hears their words in her mind. She recalls that Ujjwal has never asked her about their honeymoon. This thought deepens her sorrow.

Her handkerchief becomes completely soaked with tears. Ishika starts to think that Ujjwal's care during her anxiety must be just for show. She feels like Ujjwal is trapped in the marriage with her.

She lies down crying and doesn't know when she fell asleep.

Ujjwal returns home with the food, greets his aunts, and takes their blessings. They all inquire about each other's well-being.

Ujjwal asks about Ishika, and Surbhi mentions that she went to the storeroom to find something. Ujjwal serves food to Surbhi and Saarika at the dining table and then goes to call Ishika to eat.

Ujjwal knocks on the storeroom door. Ishika, trembling, gets up and, without opening the door, tells Ujjwal that she has eaten and is looking for something in the storeroom.

She says she will come out shortly. Ujjwal says that since she has eaten, he will have his meal with the aunts. Ishika, with a heavy heart, agrees.

Ishika's eyes look teary and weak.

Surbhi and Saarika do not talk to Ujjwal about his marriage to Ishika because they both believe that Ujjwal must be unhappy with Ishika, and they don't want to make him more upset by discussing it.

Since Ujjwal's brother and sister-in-law are not at home, after dinner, Surbhi and Saarika go to their room to sleep.

After they leave, Ishika quietly comes from the storeroom and washes her face.

Ujjwal is unaware of what Ishika is going through. He is also unaware of the conversations Surbhi and Saarika had about Ishika in front of her.

Ujjwal suggests Ishika that they go to the bedroom and sleep and that she should not overexert herself because she is in her period.

Ishika goes to the bedroom with Ujjwal but is still troubled by the thought that if she sleeps with Ujjwal, he will feel disgusted.
