I swear this chapter is all happy, I know the title is.... not the best but I couldn't think of one :/
Raz's POV
I bite back a grin, it's so fun to tease Jax! Especially when it comes to Gilly. Although I told them that I had something to do, I actually don't. I just want to tag along and basically third-wheel on them.
I am more than disappointed that I missed so many Jilly moments, I had to hear them all from Maxine. Honestly, it's so fun to watch my baby brother getting a crush, I was stuck in a tower up until I was almost eighteen, so I missed a lot of things that others consider part of life.
When Jax helped Gilly with her curtsy - I knew it was going to be a challenge for her and hoped that she'd manage - I was ecstatic! Oh my goodness, it was so cute!!!! I couldn't help but give Jax a bunch of looks (some of which he promptly ignored).
Ok, now I'm fangirling a bit too much.
I look down at Gilly beside me, she looks beyond amazing in that gown! I'm proud to say that purple suits her incredibly well, matching that purple streak in her hair.
Now that I think of it, I think I remember Jax telling me once that Gilly got the purple streak when she and Jocelyn were fighting and Jocelyn permanently gave Gilly a purple streak. I know he said that she gave her that because they were arguing, but I can't help but wonder, did Jocelyn mean for it to be purple?
Of all the colors, she could've given Gilly something unflattering like neon yellow, or ghostly white, but it came out purple. I have no idea when this occurred so I can't be sure, but what if Jocelyn had another reason to do that, what if, the purple was supposed to match a certain violet-eyed, undercover prince's eyes?
Maybe I'm overthinking it and it really was a coincidence, but what can I say (except you're welcome)?
I'm a girl who was secluded for most of her life, I don't really understand how these things work (but I can guess).
The footman bows as he catches sight of us, and opens the door, holding his hand out. I give him a small nod of thanks before taking it and stepping into the carriage.
I take my seat and turn to face the open doorway, waiting for Gilly to enter. Jax steps forward, my brows furrow, what on Earth is he doing? Didn't he remember the etiquette mother and father taught him? Then he steps to the side and holds out his hand.
Gilly glances at him, looking half exasperated, half thankful, before taking it and joining me on the carriage, sliding into the seat across from me.
Lastly, Jax climbs aboard, taking the seat next to Gilly.
I raise my eyebrows at him, he stares back at me blankly.
Sighing, I avert my gaze and look out the window, as much as I'd love to continue watching, Jax would probably get back at me for admiring his love life so intently.
The carriage slowly starts to move, the horses pulling it in a slow, almost hypnotizing trot. If it weren't for my public image, I would probably fall asleep right now, but unfortunately, being royal means that eyes are almost always on you, so you have to be careful with your actions.
Since I'm going to FTRS anyway, I might as well make a visit to Beauty's library since I was planning on borrowing a book from her.
Despite being enclosed in a carriage, the chilling winds outside somehow make it in, making me shiver.
"It's cold," Gilly notes. I look over at her, she's shivering slightly - can't blame her, the carriage is already slightly cold due to the metal encasing it and the breeze probably isn't helping.
