After tossing and turning in bed, Nithya suddenly remembered Priya. She hadn't messaged her lately and wondered what could be the reason. Taking out her phone, she typed, "Hey! What happened? Are you busy?" and waited for a few minutes for a response, but Priya was offline. With a sigh, Nithya turned off her phone, placed it on the table, and lay back down.

Outside, Adhitya was uncomfortable on the couch, but he felt grateful that Nithya had let him stay, that was enough for him. Slowly, he drifted off.

Adhitya woke up early, unable to ignore the discomfort in his neck. He glanced at the clock—it was 5:35 AM—and noticed that it was still dark outside. After opening the back door and using the restroom in the backyard. The sun began to rise, but darkness still lingered. He returned to the kitchen to check for milk. He knew that Gangamma usually brought milk and cooking essentials for Nithya, and since she wasn't around, he decided to get some. He grabbed his car keys, locked the main door, and drove to the market for the first time in his life.

He returned home with milk packets, eggs, vegetables, and a few other items. Nithya's bedroom door was still closed, so he assumed she was still asleep.

As sunlight began to filter into the room, it disturbed Nithya's sleep. She woke up, headed straight to the bathroom to freshen up, and emerged wearing a simple cotton saree. The moment she opened her bedroom door, the enticing aroma of food wafted toward her. Frowning, she peeked into the kitchen and found Adhitya cooking breakfast.

Nithya entered the kitchen and stood beside him, arms folded across her chest. "What are you doing? Does your grandmother know you're cooking here?" she asked sarcastically.

"Answering your first question, I'm cooking for my wife. As for your second question, no, she doesn't, and even if she did, I wouldn't care," he replied with a shrug. Nithya didn't expect this answer. "Okay, just leave after having your breakfast," she said. Adhitya remained silent and continued cooking.

Nithya opened the fridge, surprised to find it fully stocked. She sighed, shaking her head, and took out a milk packet to boil for Anith. Moving to the stove, she switched on one burner and placed the milk pan on it. Adhitya felt a surge of happiness seeing her use the items he had bought; he had worried she might scold him for bringing them.

While Nithya swept the floor, gathering dust into a dustpan, Adhitya entered the hall with two plates and called out to her. "Nithya, it's time to eat!" He set one plate on the table and began to eat. He knew better than to nag her to join him, as that might trigger her stubbornness.

After finishing his breakfast, Adhitya tiptoed into Nithya's bedroom, where Anith was still sleeping. He leaned down and gently kissed the boy's forehead before leaving the room. Nithya observed all of this but pretended not to notice.

Adhitya walked back to Nithya. "I'm leaving now, but I'll be back in the evening. Be careful, and if you need anything, just call me. I also brought you some chocolates, I know you like them," he said, then left. He hesitated, wanting to kiss her forehead goodbye, but reminded himself that friends don't kiss. With a heavy sigh, he stepped out.

Once he was gone, Nithya approached the table, picked up the plate he had prepared for her, and took a bite. To her surprise, it didn't taste bad at all. "Maybe he learned to cook while he was in London," she thought.

After finishing her breakfast, Nithya sat on the couch, her mind racing with thoughts of Adhitya. Seeing him act this way made her anxious. Has he really changed? Does he deserve another chance?

Her thoughts were interrupted by Anith's sleepy voice calling out, "Mama!" He hugged her tightly, still groggy. Nithya kissed him back and carried him to the bathroom to get him ready for the day.
