Years passed, and Adithya completed his studies. He didn't want to go back to his village, so he decided to stay in London. Meanwhile, Prem returned to the village and took over the family business. With the connections he gained, he decided to enter politics to pursue his interest.
All this time, Adithya never forgot his love, her thoughts haunted him. He wondered where she was, how she was doing, and whether she missed him as much as he missed her. Was she married to someone else? These thoughts tormented him. Many girls approached him in college and at work, but all ran away after receiving his rude responses. Over the years, his personality had changed completely-he had become cold, arrogant, and domineering. However, his relationship with his grandparents remained unchanged. He only called them and occasionally spoke to his mother, but he completely avoided his father.

Meanwhile, Nithya was in the tenth grade, studying hard to score well in her board exams. However, her aunt (Adithya's mother) made it difficult for her to study in peace, often assigning her unnecessary chores. Four days a week, she feigned illness, burdening Nithya with work. Nithya never told her grandparents about this, feeling it was a repayment for the family that took her in. She believed she had no place to complain.
After taking her exams, Nithya awaited her results.

On the other side, Prem received a marriage proposal from a reputable family in the neighboring village. The bride's family had a political background, and as Prem was also interested in politics, he agreed to the marriage, thinking it could benefit his political career. Initially just a marriage of convenience, they fell deeply in love after their first meeting.
Their engagement was fixed and communicated to Adithya, but he claimed that his work was hectic and that he would attend the wedding afterward. Prem tried hard to convince him, but Adithya remained firm in his decision, stating he would not attend the function. This hurt Prem, and their father felt disappointed that his younger son didn't attend his brother's engagement.

Nithya's results were finally released, and she achieved excellent marks. Her grandparents decided to enroll her in the commerce stream, but she had time before school started. Prem's wedding date was also fixed, and now Adithya felt he could no longer avoid his brother's wedding. He booked his flight tickets, intending to return to London immediately after the marriage.
Adithya arrived in his village four days prior to the wedding and the wedding rituals would start the next day . Prem went to the railway station to pick him up. Adithya's mother, grandparents, and Nithya waited at the entrance of the house to welcome him. As the car entered the compound, Adhitya's mother lit the camphor to perform the aarti. Adithya stepped out of the car, accepted the aarti, and then his mother handed the plate to Nithya.
Adithya hugged his grandparents and bent down to touch their feet to receive their blessings. Everyone settled on the sofa, and Nithya approached with a glass of water, focusing intently on his face. He was so handsome that she had never seen anyone like him. As he turned to take the glass from her hand, he was stunned. She had grown so much and looked beautiful, her face was perfect, and her body had the right curves in all the right places. He looked at her keenly, but then Swetha's face flashed before him. He remembered that this girl was the reason for his misery, and he felt he had to hate her.
He took the glass from her hand and glared at her. Nithya was taken aback by his look, confused about what she had done wrong.
Adithya's father entered the house, happy to see his son after so many years. He had left as an immature teenager and returned as a successful man, and he felt proud of his son. "How are you?" he asked. "Fine," Adithya replied curtly. Understanding his resentment, his father left for his room, not wanting to pressure him.

During breakfast, Prem announced that he planned to enter politics full-time after his marriage, stating that it was the perfect time to start his political career. "Then who will take care of the business?" Adithya's mother asked. "Adithya will take care of it," his grandfather stated.
Adithya was shocked to hear this and choked on his food. His mother immediately patted his head and offered him water. Adithya had no plans to return to India, if it weren't for his brother's wedding, he wouldn't have come at all. But now, hearing his grandparents, he was unsure how to refuse them. He left for his room without finishing his breakfast. His mother asked him to sit back and eat, but he left without acknowledging her words.
