Adhitya went back home to get ready for the office. After taking a shower, he packed his clothes for the week in a bag and came downstairs. He saw his mother working restlessly in the kitchen and his grandmother in the pooja room. Seeing him, his mother asked him to wait a few minutes so she could serve breakfast. He replied that he had already had breakfast at Nithya's house. He then informed his family that he would be staying with Nithya until Gangamma and Gopaiyya returned.
Hearing this, Adhitya's mother felt a surge of possessiveness. She worried about him spending too much time with his wife, imagining him leaving their home for her. However, she kept her thoughts to herself, as Adhitya's grandparents were pleased, believing it could bring Adhitya and Nithya closer and improve their relationship.
Adhitya drove off to his office, but only his body was present there, his mind was completely with Nithya. At lunchtime, he wanted to talk to her, so he took out his phone, selected her name from his contacts, and called her.
Nithya had just finished feeding Anith his lunch and was cleaning him up to make him sleep when her phone rang. She frowned upon seeing the unknown number and answered, "Hello, who is it?" Adhitya was mesmerized by her voice, which sounded like honey pouring into his ears. His pleasure was interrupted by Nithya's voice again, "Hello? Hello?" Not getting a response, she frowned and looked at the number again. She placed the phone on her ear and said, "Hello?"
"Nithya, it's me," Adhitya finally said. Nithya was surprised to receive his call, she hadn't expected him to call. "What?" she asked.
"Nothing, just wanted to check on you. Have you had lunch?" he asked.
"No," she replied sternly.
"Oh, what about Anith?" he inquired.
"He just ate. I have work to do now, so please hang up," she said and disconnected the call. Adhitya felt hurt by her words, he had expected her to ask whether he had lunch. He then remembered all the times she had been insulted by him like this when she was living in his house, yet she never stopped taking care of him. Determined, he resolved not to let her coldness demotivate him, knowing that it was nothing compared to what he had done to her.
On the other side, after cutting the call, Nithya thought about the days when she used to be a maid for him, always thinking about what he liked and how to gain his attention. When she was there, giving her all just for a glance, he hadn't even acknowledged her presence. Now, when her heart was broken, he was trying to piece things back together. Why now? Even if he did manage to fix things, the damage was done forever. She smiled bitterly and went to the bedroom to make Anith sleep. She also needed to shoot a video, as it had been days since she last uploaded one.
Later that evening, Adhitya drove back to Nithya's house. On the way, he saw an advertisement for a textile store mentioning a Diwali sale. That's when it struck him that Diwali was around the corner. He wanted to take Nithya and Anith to the mall to buy new clothes for them, but he knew she wouldn't go shopping with him. Lost in thought, he spotted a small, cute puppy by the roadside. His eyes lit up at the sight; Adhitya had always wanted a pet. As a child, he had asked for one, but his grandparents had never allowed it. He stopped the car, got out, and approached the puppy. After looking around for its mother and finding none, he decided to take it home for Anith.
Adhitya reached home and got out of the car with the puppy in his hands. Anith came out excitedly at the sound of the car. Adhitya felt happy seeing his son wait for him eagerly. As soon as Anith saw the puppy, he jumped with joy, clapping his hands. Adhitya slowly placed the puppy in Anith's hands, and he took it gently, sitting down on the porch. Nithya watched all this and smiled to herself, seeing Anith's excitement. She loved animals too.
Taking the opportunity, Nithya went into the kitchen, brought out Anith's food, and started to feed him. Anith ate quietly, absorbed in playing with the puppy. After finishing feeding him, Nithya took the puppy from Anith and handed it back to Adhitya, who was watching his son play with it and cleaned Anith.
Nithya brought a bowl of milk and fed the puppy, then made a bed for it in the hall, where it curled up and went to sleep. With its tummy full, the puppy slept soundly.
Adhitya grabbed his bag from the car and took out his nightwear to shower. After his shower, Nithya served dinner, and they ate in silence. Anith watched the sleeping puppy, sitting across from it.
Feeling uncomfortable sleeping on the couch, Adhitya asked Nithya for a mat to spread on the floor. Nithya felt bad for making him sleep on the floor, but she couldn't let him on her bed. She gave him the mat and two thick blankets to make him comfortable before heading to the room with Anith. Although Anith didn't want to leave his father and the puppy, Nithya carried him, knowing he would fall asleep quickly.
In the middle of the night, Adhitya felt something wet on his face. He slowly opened his eyes to see the puppy lying on him and licking his face. He smiled at it, took it in his arms, and turned to his side to sleep. However, the puppy was not in the mood to sleep and kept him awake all night.
