Makotos pov
I watched as each of their heart monitors flatlined. I fell to my knees. How did this happen? They were supposed to come back to consciousness, they were supposed to leave the game. How did everything reset?
"I failed them" a tear rolled down my face.
"We failed them" kyoko bent down, placing a hand on my shoulder "there's no need to take it all on yourself" I took her hand, silently thanking her.
"You two may want to see this" Byakuya said calmly. We looked up and to our disbelief all their heart monitors were back online. We rushed to the monitor to find them back on the beach.
"What's going on?" I shook my head in confusion.
"It's hard to say" byakuya's stoic face was hard to read. Is he just as confused as we were? Even after all this time I can't figure out what he's thinking "the neo world is a very new thing. We aren't sure how it operates"
"Even so I trust in Chihiro's work" I said firmly "he poured his soul into this. This is going to be their salvation"
"I agree" kyoko smiled at me "we just have to figure out what to do about this supposed glitch. I'm sure chihiro left some failsafe in his system"
"Agreed. He was too smart to miss a glitch as obvious as this" byakuya nodded "I'll investigate the system"
"Be careful not to disturb the program byakuya" I said nervously.
"Have a little faith in me neagi. I'm not one to make blunders" he shrugged my concerns off. I turned to Hajime's sleeping body. Hold on. I will save you.
