2. Friends?

Turning around, Shubman's gaze fell upon a vision of beauty – a woman with flowing hair and an air of elegance that seemed to radiate from her very being. He couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu wash over him as he looked into her eyes, as if he had seen her somewhere before.

"Have I seen you before?" Shubman asked, unable to shake the feeling of familiarity that tugged at the corners of his mind.

"Ayesha, right? We met at Tanya's party," Shubman ventured, trying to place the face that seemed so familiar.

"Siya, Siya Kapoor," she clarified, her voice tinged with amusement.

"Ah, Siya Kapoor," Shubman repeated, the pieces of the puzzle starting to fall into place. "Geetanjali's cousin."

"Manav Mangal Smart School, same batch," Siya added, nodding in disappointment.

Shubman's eyes widened in realization. "Ohh, scholar Siya! How could I forget the name?" he exclaimed, a grin spreading across his face. "I may not have seen you much during our school days, but your name was always there on the topper's list."

Siya laughed, the sound like music to Shubman's ears. "Well, someone had to keep the GPA up," she quipped.

In a rush of nostalgia and fondness, Shubman enveloped Siya in a warm hug, a gesture that caught her off guard but filled her with a flutter of butterflies. After all, he had been her crush during their school days, and this unexpected embrace reignited a flurry of old feelings.

"Why are you here?" Shubman asked as they pulled apart, his gaze searching hers with genuine curiosity.

Siya took a moment to compose herself, her heart still racing from the unexpected encounter. "I'm here for my friend Samiksha's wedding," she explained, trying to steady her voice despite the whirlwind of emotions swirling inside her.

Shubman's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "You're friends with Ishan's to-be wife?" he asked, a hint of incredulity in his tone.

Siya nodded, a shy smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "Yes, Samiksha and I go way back. We've been friends since childhood," she replied, her voice tinged with pride at the depth of their friendship.

"Where might Samiksha's room be?" Siya inquired, her tone laced with a hint of uncertainty as she glanced around the grand palace hotel.

Shubman chuckled softly, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I'm not your guide, Siya. You'll have to ask with a little more love than that," he teased, his playful demeanor warming the air between them.

Siya rolled her eyes, but a smile played at the corners of her lips. "Fine, then. Shubman, darling, would you be so kind as to point me in the direction of Samiksha's room?" she asked, laying on the sweetness with a touch of theatricality.
