12. Rejected?
The next morning, they all piled into the car with Abhishek behind the wheel. Shubman sat in the passenger seat, while Ishan and Samiksha took the back. Samiksha held her phone, giving directions to Abhishek.
"Alright, take a left here," Samiksha instructed, keeping her eyes on the map.
Abhishek, known for his heavy foot on the accelerator, took the turn sharply, causing everyone to jolt in their seats."Easy there, Schumacher!" Ishan exclaimed, holding onto the door handle.
Abhishek grinned, unapologetic. "Sorry, bro. Just trying to get us there quickly."
Shubman, clutching his seatbelt, shot a wary glance at Abhishek. "We’re not in a race, Abhi. Let’s try to get there in one piece."
Samiksha laughed, shaking her head. "Maybe ease up a bit on the gas. We’re not trying to set any land speed records."
Abhishek chuckled but nodded, easing off the accelerator slightly. "Fine, fine. But I don’t want to hear any complaints about being late."
Another sharp turn had Ishan leaning into Samiksha. "Dude, you really need to work on your driving skills. I feel like I’m on a roller coaster." Samiksha patted
Ishan’s hand reassuringly. "It’s okay, love. Just think of it as an adventure."
Ishan rolled his eyes. "Adventure? This is more like a test of survival."Shubman, trying to keep his nerves in check, glanced at Abhishek. "You sure you’re not moonlighting as a stunt driver?"
Abhishek laughed loudly. "Hey, I get us where we need to go, don’t I?"
"Yeah, but at what cost?" Shubman muttered, gripping the door handle as they swerved around another corner.
"Next right," Samiksha called out, keeping her voice steady despite the turbulent ride.
Abhishek made the turn, and they found themselves on a quieter street, lined with trees and houses. "See? We’re almost there."
Samiksha nodded, pointing ahead. "Just a little further. It’s the third house on the left."
As they approached Siya’s house, Abhishek finally slowed down, pulling up to the curb with a dramatic flourish. "And here we are, safe and sound."
Shubman exhaled deeply, unclenching his hands from the armrest. "Remind me never to let you drive again."
Ishan laughed, patting Abhishek on the shoulder as they climbed out of the car. "You’ve got a unique style, man. Terrifying, but unique."
Abhishek grinned, unbothered by their teasing. "All part of the experience. Now, let’s go win back Siya."
