16. Workshop.
Siya stepped off the train at Chandigarh station, her bag slung over her shoulder. The bustling station was a blend of familiar sights and sounds, but her mind was elsewhere. She had a one-day workshop to attend, but her thoughts kept drifting to Abhishek.
Standing by the platform, she pulled out her phone and hesitated. Should she tell Abhishek she was here? What if he was busy? She didn’t want to bother him.
Siya scrolled through her contacts, her thumb hovering over Abhishek’s name. "Maybe I should just let him know," she muttered to herself. But then, shaking her head, she decided against it.
"No, I don’t want to disturb him. He might be in practice or have other commitments," she reasoned, putting her phone back in her bag.
Taking a deep breath, she reminded herself of the purpose of her trip. "Focus, Siya. You’re here for the workshop, not to complicate things," she whispered, trying to push thoughts of Abhishek out of her mind.
With that, she headed out of the station, ready to tackle the day ahead. Siya had booked a small room for the day, a modest place to rest before her workshop. Exhaustion from the journey weighed heavily on her, and the moment she stepped inside, she felt the fatigue setting in.
She glanced at the clock, noting she had about five hours before the workshop started. "I have some time to rest," she murmured to herself, already feeling the pull of sleep.
Without bothering to unpack, Siya threw herself onto the bed. The mattress was firm, but at that moment, it felt like the most comfortable place in the world. She sighed deeply, letting the tension of travel drain away.
"Just a quick nap," she told herself, though she knew she needed the rest. Her eyes fluttered shut, and within minutes, she was fast asleep, her body grateful for the respite.
The room was quiet, save for the distant hum of traffic outside, and Siya drifted into a deep, restful sleep, her thoughts fading into the background.
