19. Crushing.
Siya woke up early the next morning, quietly observing Abhishek as he slept peacefully, hugging the pillow. A warm smile spread across her face at the sight of him looking so serene. Knowing they had limited time before she had to leave, she reluctantly decided to wake him.
She approached the bed with gentle steps, sitting down beside him. "Abhishek," she whispered softly, trying not to startle him.
He mumbled something incoherent and snuggled deeper into the pillow. Siya chuckled softly and reached out to lift the pillow gently from his grasp.
Just as she thought she had succeeded, Abhishek unexpectedly tightened his hold, pulling her closer into his embrace.
Siya's cheeks flushed with surprise and she laughed softly. "Abhishek, wake up," she murmured, lightly shaking him.
Instead of waking, he rolled over, inadvertently trapping her beneath him.
"Abhishek," she laughed nervously, trying to wriggle free without waking him too abruptly."Abhishek," Siya said softly, squirming a bit under his weight. He finally stirred, opening his eyes drowsily to find himself face-to-face with a blushing Siya.
"Siya?" he mumbled, still half-asleep. A goofy, sleepy grin spread across his face. "What are you doing down there?"
"You pulled me in your sleep, you big goof," she replied, unable to suppress a giggle. "Now, would you mind letting me up?"
Abhishek blinked a few times, his brain slowly processing the situation. "Oh, sorry," he said, his voice still thick with sleep. He rolled off her and sat up, rubbing his eyes. "Guess I was dreaming."
Siya sat up too, laughing softly. "Dreaming about what, exactly? Wrestling with a pillow?"
He chuckled, running a hand through his messy hair. "Who knows? My dreams are always weird. Good morning, by the way."
"Good morning," she replied, still smiling. "We need to get ready and pack up. The quarter rent is up soon."
"Right, right," he said, stretching his arms. "But first, chai. I can't function without it."
"Fine, chai it is," Siya agreed, getting up. "I'll make it. You just... try to wake up fully."
He grinned, watching her head to the kitchen. "Thanks, Chintu. You're the best."
"Don't call me Chintu," she called back, laughing as she started to prepare tea.
Abhishek finally managed to get himself fully awake and ready. He wandered into the kitchen, where Siya was pouring chai into cups. He hopped onto the counter, watching her with a playful smile.
"Ek cutting chai lana, Chintu," he teased, swinging his legs.
Siya rolled her eyes but couldn't help smiling. "Do you ever stop teasing me, Laddu?"
