"And suddenly you know: It's time to start something new & trust the magic of beginnings." ~ Meister Eckhart

"So at my day care, we play with blocks and toys. We get yummy snacks and nap time. They play music for us, and they let us play outside on the playground and paint if we are good kids. I have many friends there. There's Mikey, Nikki, Sammy, and Brian," Evangeline says rambling on about her day care amoung other things. Right now, I'm in Rosalinda's van with everybody driving back to their house. My new home.

Rosalinda is driving the van with Vladimir sitting in the passenger seat while I'm in the backseat with Evangeline sitting in her car seat in between Kye and me. After she had claimed me to be her new mom, she ran up to Rosalinda and kept saying, "I have a mommy!" Everyone then decided that we should go home so that I can settle in. Since we got in the van, Evangeline has not stopped talking making it her job to tell me everything.

"One time they took us to the bowling alley," Evangeline says finally stopping.

"Did you have fun at the bowling alley?" I ask her turning to face her.

"No! I didn't get any points, and people made fun if me!" she shouts getting mad her face turning red.

"Don't worry. Every time I bowl, all I get is gutter balls," I tell her leaning towards her as if it was a secret I was telling her.

"Really?" she asks amazed. "You're no good at it either?"

"Nope. Never have been."

"Yeah. I'm not alone!" Evangeline exclaims before turning towards Kye. "Daddy she's not good at bowling either!"

"Well now I have to teach two people how to bowl," says Kye chuckling softly and ruffling her hair.

"Daddy my hair!" Everyone let's out a laugh at that except for Evangeline since she was scowling.

"We're here!" Rosalinda sings out as she pulls into a driveway. My eyes widen in surprise of how big the house was. It was a two story house that took up almost two plots of land. If the house looks this big in the outside, I can only imagine what the inside of the house looks like. Kye notices how I'm just staring at the house and cocks his head to the side.

"What? Never seen a house this big before?" he asks amused.

"No. All the houses where I'm from are smaller than this," I say still looking up at the house. While we stand outside, everyone else goes inside the house.

"Well it's going to be quite a change," he says walking up to me and taking my backpack from my hands and throws it over my shoulder while taking my hand. "Come on! Let me show you around." He leads me into the house, and the first room I see is the living room.

The living room has one of those Kong couches that curves and continues along with two recliners. Mounted on the wall is a big flat screen TV with built-ins surrounding it filled with gaming systems, video games, movies, pictures, books, and board games. In the center is a darkly stained coffee table that holds a small wicker basket that contains magazines and the remotes. On the wall is the four corners are mounted speakers creating surround sound. Kye smiles at my reaction before leading me through an opening in the wall going to the kitchen.

Stainless steel appliances took up almost half of one wall of the kitchen while cabinets took up the rest. There was an island, and all counter tops are granite. They have a dining table set up on the opposite side of the kitchen to the window. He leads me through another opening that at first glance shows a hallway with three doors, but we turned left revealing a flight of stairs. We walk up the stairs into the second story.

The second story hallyway has five doors, and Kye leads me down to the last door on the right. He twists the knob and opens then door letting go of my hand and waving arms showing off this room.

"This is my room," he says placing my backpack on his bed. "This will be your room too since most of the rooms are being used. You okay with that?"

"I guess so as long as you don't try anything," I say flopping down into the bean bag chair he has in the corner of his room.

"Scouts honor. Okay so the door across from this room is the bathroom, the door next to this room is Evangeline's room, the door across hers is Vladimir's room, and the last door is the office. Downstairs in the hall we passed through, the first door was another bathroom, the door on the next side is the playroom for Evangeline, and the last door is my mom's room. There is another hall that has two rooms that were made when we closed in the garage, but those are filled with boxes right now," Kye says explaining the layout of the house and what room was what.

"Okay," I say looking around the room. The bed is queen size with a night stand next to it holding a lamp and alarm clock on it. On the wall that I'm by is the dresser and closet. Along his wall are pictures of him and Evangeline and drawings she has made. I put my hand over my face covering my mouth and smile to myself.

'I think I'm going to like it here,' I think to myself.
