-----------------it was a rainy autumn afternoon, and you were curled up in the corner of your favourite coffee shop, a mug of hot chocolate nestled in your hands.
the warm scent of cinnamon and cocoa mixed with the earthy fragrance of rain through the open window, creating an inviting atmosphere.
you were wrapped in your hoodie, your head tilted slightly as you watched the rain tap rhythmically against the windowpane. it was one of those rare days you had to yourself, where you could just enjoy the quiet and let your thoughts wander.
that was until you felt your phone buzz in your pocket.
changbin: got a table for two? ;)
your heart leapt at the message, a familiar warmth spreading through you. you raised an eyebrow as you lifted your head, looking out of the window of the café only to see changbin standing there, a small smile on his face.
you texted back, "only if you're paying."
a few minutes later, changbin strolled in, his cheeks pink from the cold, a gentle smile playing on his lips.
he had his signature scarf wrapped snugly around his neck, the ends hanging loosely.
his eyes brightened when he saw you, and he gave you a small, almost mischievous wave before making his way over to the table.
"you're in my spot," changbin teased, pulling the chair out next to you.
you rolled your eyes but didn't try to move. "I was here first. finders keepers, chagbin."
changbin let out a soft laugh, sliding into the chair anyway. as he did, he casually draped an arm over the back of your seat, pulling you closer together.
it was something so natural, so casual between you two that you didn't think twice about leaning into changbin's warmth.
"so, what's your plan for today?" changbin asked, eyeing your hot chocolate. "apart from drinking enough sugar to last you a week?"
"I didn't have any plans, actually. just wanted to enjoy the rain," you murmured, smiling as you looked out the window. the world outside looked hazy, and people rushed by under umbrellas, huddled against the chilly autumn wind.
changbin glanced at you with that thoughtful look he sometimes had, the one that always made your heart skip a beat.
"sounds like you could use a little adventure. come on," changbin said suddenly, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
"bin, it's pouring outside!" you laughed, but chagbin just shrugged.
"so? we're not made of sugar," he said, a grin spreading across his face. "trust me, it'll be fun."
before you could protest, changbin was pulling him out of your chair, and you were darting out into the rain, hand in hand.
it was cold, the rain coming down in heavy droplets, but there was something exhilarating about it - the feeling of freedom, of being alive, laughing and running with changbin at his side.
your hood quickly slipped off, and your hair was soaked, but you couldn't bring yourself to care.
you ended up in the middle of a nearby park, completely drenched, laughing breathlessly as you collapsed onto a bench under a wide oak tree. the leaves above you offered little shelter, but at least it wasn't pouring directly on you anymore.
changbin looked over at you, his face flushed, drops of rain trailing down his cheek. he reached out, brushing a wet strand of hair away from your forehead. "see? worth it, right?"
you felt your heart pound as you gazed back at changbin, feeling his presence so intensely it was almost overwhelming. "yeah," you whispered. "worth it."
for a moment, you just looked at each other, the world quiet around you, except for the pattering of rain.
it was changbin who moved first, leaning in closer, his eyes soft and warm as they locked onto yours. your breath hitched, and without another thought, you closed the gap, your heart racing as your lips met in a gentle, lingering kiss.
everything seemed to slow down, the rain, the cold - none of it mattered. all that existed was changbin, his hand softly cupping your cheek, his lips soft and warm against yours. it felt like a promise, one you didn't need words to understand.
when you finally pulled back, both of you were smiling, a bit shyly, with that look of wonder that made everything feel like the start of something magical. changbin laced his fingers through your, squeezing them gently.
"let's get out of the rain," changbin murmured, his voice soft but filled with a quiet joy.
you walked hand in hand back to changbin's apartment, your clothes still damp but your spirits warmer than ever.
once inside, you changed into dry clothes and curled up on the couch, changing, throwing an old blanket over both of you as you settled into each other's arms.
you tilted your head to look up at changbin, your heart full. "this is...nice. just us."
changbin smiled, his hand reaching up to ruffle your hair affectionately. "get used to it," he said softly. "I'm not going anywhere."
and you knew, in that cozy little moment, that changbin meant every word.
