----------------the winter air nipped at your cheeks as you stood in the crowded train station, bundled in your favourite coat and scarf.
you looked down at your phone, checking the time. he was late - not unusual for yang jeongin, who always insisted it was part of his charm.
the memory of him once laughing and saying, "why be on time when I can make an entrance?" brought a smile to your lips.
but before you could scroll through your texts again, a voice cut through the noise.
"baby!"
you turned around just in time to see jeongin jogging toward you, his black hair sticking out from beneath a beanie, and his cheeks flushed pink from the cold.
he was wearing the scarf you had knitted for him last christmas, and seeing it made your heart skip a beat.
he stopped in front of you, slightly out of breath but grinning wide.
"sorry, sorry! the bus was late," he said, his voice carrying the same youthful excitement that always made your heart flutter.
"it's fine," you replied with a smile, pretending to be annoyed. "I've only been standing here freezing for, oh, twenty minutes."
he pouted dramatically, reaching out to adjust your scarf. "I'll make it up to you. I promise. starting with this-" he pulled something from his bag and presented it to you with a flourish.
it was a small paper bag from your favourite bakery. Inside was a neatly wrapped red bean bun, still warm to the touch. your annoyance melted away instantly.
"you're forgiven," you teased, biting into the bun while jeongin gave you a satisfied grin.

the two of you walked through the bustling streets of seoul, hand in hand, your fingers interlocked beneath your gloves.
winter lights adorned the trees lining the sidewalks, casting a golden glow on everything around you. it felt like the world had slowed down, just for the two of you.
jeongin kept stealing glances at you as you marvelled at the lights, the corners of his lips tugging upward every time you pointed something out with childlike excitement.
"you're staring," you said, catching him in the act.
"so what if I am?" he replied, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. "I can't help it. you're too cute when you're like this."
you rolled your eyes, but you couldn't hide the warmth blooming in your chest.
"where are we going, anyway?" you asked as he led you down a quieter street.
"it's a surprise," he said cryptically, his smile widening. "just trust me."
===
after a short walk, you arrived at a small, cozy café tucked away from the main road.
the windows were fogged up from the heat inside, and soft jazz music spilled out as jeongin opened the door for you.
the scent of freshly brewed coffee and pastries enveloped you, and you immediately felt at home.
"jeongin, this is so cute," you said, looking around at the warm decor - wooden furniture, bookshelves lined with novels, and fairy lights draped across the ceiling.
"I thought you'd like it," he said, pulling out a chair for you before sitting across from you. "it's quiet and cozy, just like you."
you gave him a look. "are you saying I'm boring?"
"not boring," he said, leaning forward with a cheeky grin. "just... low maintenance. in the best way."
you threw a napkin at him, laughing as he dramatically dodged it.
===
the two of you spent hours in the café, talking about everything and nothing.
jeongin told you about the latest chaos in the dorms, his hyungs driving him crazy but also keeping him grounded.
you shared stories about your own life, and he listened intently, his eyes never leaving yours.
at one point, the café owner, an older woman with a kind smile, approached your table. "you two are such a lovely couple," she said. "would you like me to take a picture for you?"
you blushed, but jeongin was quick to nod. "of course! thank you."
ge scooted his chair closer to yours, wrapping an arm around your shoulders as the owner snapped a photo.
when you looked at the picture later, you couldn't help but notice how happy you both looked, your faces glowing with pure joy.
===
as the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange, jeongin led you to a nearby park.
the snow crunched beneath your boots as you walked along the frozen lake, your breath visible in the crisp air.
he suddenly stopped, turning to face you.
"I have something for you," he said, pulling a small box from his coat pocket.
your heart skipped a beat as he handed it to you.
inside was a delicate silver bracelet, adorned with a tiny charm shaped like a star.
"jeongin..." you whispered, your eyes welling up with tears.
"I saw it a while ago and thought of you," he said, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "you're always reaching for the stars, you know? I wanted you to have one to keep with you."
you threw your arms around him, burying your face in his chest. "thank you," you said, your voice muffled by his coat. "I love it. I love you."
he froze for a moment before breaking into the biggest smile you'd ever seen. "I love you too," he said, his voice soft but full of emotion.
===
that night, as you walked back to the train station hand in hand, you couldn't help but think that this day was perfect.
not because of the gifts or the beautiful places you'd visited, but because you'd spent it with jeongin. and as he pulled you close, shielding you from the cold with his warmth, you knew you'd treasure this day - and him - forever.
