-------------------the drive to jisung's parents' house had been long but pleasant, filled with quiet conversations, playful banter, and the occasional hum of a shared favourite song.
you loved road trips with jisung - they were filled with these small, precious moments. still, by the time you arrived, both were visibly tired.
jisung's mother greeted them warmly at the door.
"there you are!" she exclaimed, pulling jisung into a tight hug before turning to you with the same affection. "sweetheart, you're looking thinner. are you eating well?" she teased, her hands cupping your face."mom," jisung interrupted with a light laugh, setting their bags down. "she eats more than I do. don't let her fool you."
you pouted, leaning into the warmth of her hands. "jisung's lying," you quipped. "I've been cooking for both of us. I might've burnt dinner once or twice, though."
jisung's dad appeared in the doorway, smiling warmly. "burnt food builds character," he said. "come on, you two must be starving."
dinner that evening was cozy - a hearty stew with soft rolls, cooked lovingly by jisung's mom. you sat beside jisung, the two of you stealing small touches under the table: a brush of hands, a gentle nudge of knees.
jisung's parents pretended not to notice, though the soft smiles they exchanged said otherwise.
after dinner, the exhaustion from the week caught up with you. jisung yawned as he carried both your things to his childhood bedroom, where a cozy queen-sized bed awaited.
"bedtime already?" you teased as jisung collapsed face-first onto the mattress.
"don't judge me," jisung mumbled into the pillow, too tired to move.
you laughed, tugging at jisung's arm. "come on, you can't sleep in jeans. let's at least change first."
reluctantly, jisung sat up, watching as you rummaged through your bag for pajamas. "you're bossy, you know that?"
"and you love it," you shot back with a grin.
after changing, you crawled into bed, jisung pulling you close. "goodnight, baby," he murmured, already half-asleep.
"goodnight, sungie," you whispered, smiling as he pressed a soft kiss to your temple before you both drifted off.
---
the smell of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon coaxed you awake the next morning. you stretched lazily, smiling at the sight of jisung still half-asleep beside you, his hair a mess of soft brown curls."morning, sleepyhead," you said, brushing jisung's bangs from his forehead.
jisung groaned, burying his face in your shoulder. "five more minutes."
"your mom made breakfast," you coaxed. "bacon, jisung. come on."
at the mention of food, jisung finally stirred, albeit reluctantly.
downstairs, jisung's parents were already at the table. his mom beamed as they entered. "there you are. I was about to send your dad to drag you out of bed."
