Chapter Twenty
Sunlight fills my eye lids. It was competition day so up early and on the bus by 6.30. I looked at my phone for the time. 3.38. I sighed and threw the covers off of me. I wrapped Paige's blanket around me before walking out the door and down stairs into the living room to watch some TV.
I sat watching the vampire diaries for the first hour. It was the episode where Elena found out about the Salvatore brothers being Vampires. This was a ritual for me on competition day. I watch vampire diaries eat breakfast get packed up and leave. The others still weren't up after I had my breakfast, neither was Melissa. All the other Moms were meeting us at the ALDC.
I went up to have a quick shower before I decided to wake the others up. I was even dressed in my ALDC tracksuit. I went into Brooke's room with a blow horn.
"WAKIE WAKIE SLEEPY HEADS COMPETITION DAY!" I yelled down it. They all jumped with a fright before all rolling out of bed and getting ready whilst slowly waking up.
I went into Mackenzie room to see Mackenzie and Nia already up and getting dressed. "Morning girls." I smiled walking over to my stuff and zipping up my suitcase for the after party. My Mom was bringing my competition suitcase because she doesn't want me to strain myself.
This competition was going to be an emotional one for all of us. It was my last one for a while, I'm gonna tell the others about my pregnancy. I'm gonna be high with emotion tomorrow.
As a normal teenage girl I would have to be in school by 7.30 on a Friday morning but not me and the other girls, we have to miss school every Friday to travel to competitions. I'm not sure if thats a good thing, I know that it was when I first started missing school but now I have so much to catch up on on a Monday.
While the others are changing I go down stairs and write a note, we still had about an hour and a half before we needed to meet the Moms, but I needed to talk to Abby. So I wrote a note.
Girls,
I have gone to the ALDC early, I need to talk to Abby. I'll see you there.
Love,
Chlobird xoxox
I walked out the front door and took a slow walk to the ALDC which wasn't that far to walk. I enjoyed waking. I enjoyed everything about walking, I can clear my head and think about loads of problems I have.
I started to think about how I haven't really seen Josh lately He wasn't at home last night while I was there like he said he would be. Josh has text me loads and I ignored him because I didn't feel like getting stuck in anything while pregnant. If I stress than the baby will stress to.
I decided to phone him. The dial tone started. I heard the line pick up.
"Hey Chlo." He said casually.
"Hey Josh, I'm sorry I've not called you back, I was just busy and trying to keep this a secret. But why weren't you at home last night. I wanted to see you." I apologised.
"It's okay, as long as I get to talk to you for at least an hour a week then I'm okay. I wasn't at home because I was getting something for the baby." He said I giggled. I went to ask him what exactly we brought. But he got there before me. "Are you nervous for the competition this weekend?" He asked changing the subject.
"Not for the competition itself, just the after math." I said.
"You're telling them today right?"
"Yeah, I'm kind of scared but I'm sure I'll get over it." I paused. "I just wish you could be there to tell them because they're like your family as well." I pouted.
"Stop pouting and I'll see if I can convince my Mom." He teased. I squealed.
"Thank you, I've gotta go. I'm talking to Abby for a while." I said.
"Okay Love you."
"Love you too." We hung up and I went into the studio. It was pretty much empty. If only one person who I wanted to see least, was there at the studio working with Abby.
"Sorry to interrupt." I said poking my head around the door. "But can I speak to you quickly please?" I pleaded. I did this because I knew she would get the message and stop Precious little Paytons lesson to talk to me.
"Yeah sure." She walked out the door behind me.
We both walked into the dancers den and I sat on the bench opposite her.
"I came here because I needed to ask you something." I started. She nodded and motioned fro me to carry on. "How did you know that you wanted to be a choreographer instead of a dancer?" I asked her. I was curious and I think the fact that I'm having a baby is telling me that I should no longer dance after I give birth.
"Well, I didn't think I was pretty enough to be on stage. I had stage fright after forgetting a solo and My Mom was a dancer and I knew that I couldn't be as good as her in a million years." She explained. "Why?"
"I was just thinking about what to do after I have this baby." I started. "I don't want to go to school and then come straight to dance because I'll never get to see my baby but if I'm a choreographer , after school I can go home spend time with my baby and then go to a studio to choreograph dances for them." I explained.
"Well, if you want to be a choreographer, you can come here and choreograph dances for them. In ballet." She offered.
"Really?" I asked excitedly.
"Really. Now the bus is going to be here any moment and I have to work with Payton a little more so I'll see you on the bus in about 10 minutes. You can stay here if you what." She said before walking back into studio A to work with Payton.
I stayed out the front of the building watching as Kelly parked the car with the other girls in and the other Moms following in Melissa's car.
"Hey Chloe."The Girls greeted in unison. "What did yo need to talk to Abby about?"
"Nothing, Payton was having a private with her and I didn't want to intrude so I sat out here all this time." I didn't know why I didn't tell them the truth, I think it was because half of them didn't know I was pregnant and the main point of the chat with Abby was based around after I give birth.
"Oh." The bus drove up and parked near the entrance to the studio. We all grabbed our luggage but before I could move Brooke took it from my hands.
"No," She simply said before walking on ahead of us. I sighed and followed her to the rear of the bus as she put our stuff into the trunk.
"I'm not an invalid." I huffed.
"I know but you're body hasn't fully developed and with..."She paused looking at my stomach. "You're more critical than others." She continued as we made our way into the bus. She stopped near the front to sit by Kelly and I made my way to the back to sit with Paige.
Abby got onto the bus with Payton. "Okay Ladies listen up. This week there is a change of plans. There is now a duet between Chloe and Josh, Brooke and Paige's brother. Since he's danced with the company before I don't think it's that much of a problem and it's a duet they've done in the past." She said before sitting down. It was then I realised Josh was sat with Nia at the back "Okay bus driver lets be off." She said.
And the journey began.
