Special Chapter

AS I walked slowly through the quiet garden, surrounded by blooming flowers, I hummed as I enjoyed my alone time here. My palm was resting on my big and round belly.

"Good morning, our princess," I greeted our baby at hinimas ang tyan ko.

As I strolled the garden, a sudden pain radiated through my belly. I stopped as I closed my eyes and held the wooden chair to support my weight. I took a long breath when the pain subsided, but I didn't expect it to come again, this time becoming stronger.

I bit my lip as another contraction happened, the pain's interval was getting shorter and shorter. A mix of excitement and nervousness ran into my system.

"Ai! Ai!" I shouted.

Nakarinig ako ng natatarantang takbo. "Ma'am? Ano pong nangyari, ma'am?" Nanlaki ang mata niya. "Jusko! Manganganak ka na, ma'am?"

Hindi ako makatango sa sakit na nararamdaman ko. "C-call my husband!"

Napahaplos ako sa malaking umbok na nasa tyan ko. "Calm down, our princess. Daddy and kuya are not here yet."

"Sir! Manganganak na po si ma'am! Wala po rito si Manong Terry, kakaalis lang po namalengke," tarantang paliwanag nito sa kabilang linya. "Opo! Sige po!"

Humahangos na pumunta si Aileen sa 'kin. "Ma'am parating na po si Sir Juvian. Huwag na po kayong mag-alala."

Pinagtulungan nila ni Aileen na ilagay ang mga gamit namin sa loob ng sasakyan.

"Ikaw na ang bahala rito, Ai," habilin ni Juvian at nag-drive na papunta sa hospital.

"Hon, calm down," pagpapakalma ko sa kaniya sa bilis ng pag-papaandar nito ng sasakyan.

"How can I calm down? It's time for our princess to see the world."

I chuckled. He's so cute and handsome, hindi nagbago 'yon.

Habang papunta sa hospital ay paliit nang paliit ang agwat ng nararamdaman kong sakit. The pain was getting more intense each minute.

"We're here!" Juvian stormed out the car at mabilis akong kinarga.

A group of medical staff are now waiting for us to arrive. I sat in the wheelchair. My doctor was waiting for me in a private room where I can labor.

The room was fully equipped with equipment that can be used whenever something happens.

My OB-Gyne doctor examined me, and I was near, 9cm agad.

"We will just wait, you will see your daughter," she smiled.

Napatango na na lang ako kay doc at napapikit sa sakit na nararamdaman. Juvian was holding my hand, and every time that I get contraction ay napipiga ko ang kamay niya. It helps a lot.

After a minute, I was in labor. Halos mangiyak ako at gusto ko ng sumuko.l but I need to be brave, I need to see our precious one.

"You're doing great! One more time, push!" Juvian encouraged, but he looked awkward. Natatakot ang mukha nito at parang hihimatayin sa nakikita.

I made another push, but I felt how tensed Juvian was, he's squeezing my hand and looked terrified for what he saw. I want to laugh, pero hindi ko 'yon magawa.

Finally, we heard a soft cry that filled the room. My eyes welled up as well as Juvian, a tear of happiness as we welcomed our little princess.

"She's beautiful," Juvian commented.

Nilagay ni doc ang baby namin sa dibdib ko, nanghihinang hinaplos ko iyon at halos nakalimutan na ang sakit na naramdaman kanina.

All the pain is gone now, and it is filled with joy. We brought a new life into this world, and another angel will bring happiness to our family.

"She looks like you," dagdag pa ni Juvian.

Napangiti ako sa sinabi nito. "Her eyes and nose look like yours. Welcome to the world, our princess, Denniah Jeyn Sujede-Sullivan."

I kissed her little hands. Dumating na din si Daneil at nakauniporme pa itong pumasok sa ilalim ng hospital gown nito.

"How beautiful," masayang aniya. "Hello, Denny!" He took some pictures remembering this moment.

We laughed and cried for today's blessing. Sobrang saya ko at wala ng mahihiling pa sa mumunti naming pamilya.
