(Azara's POV)
"Azara, thats the fourth time you've been in there in the last 30 minutes."
I gave Phoenix one of my signature death glares, fixing my gaze on her pointedly at her obvious comment.
She inwardly flinched at my gaze, raising her hands in mock surrender as an involuntary smile tilted her lips. "Ok ok! You don't have to pierce my soul with your stare, That should be reserved for Hangman." She paused, tiling her head. "And Bradly when he pisses you off."
A chuckle escaped my lips at that, the inevitability of that situation happening in the future more amusing than I'd like to admit. "Sorry, I'll refrain from using my piercing gaze on you. But you should stop making fun of my bathroom habits."
Phoenix crossed her arms over her chest, raising a brow. "Well, I had to point it out! That's a lot of bathroom breaks."
I sighed, my gaze trailing her as she walked over to me to adjust my hair that has been styled into a simplistic bun with flowers circling it and a golden pin holding it in place. "I'm nervous ok?"
She chuckled as she tugged on a few stray strands of hair. "You've got nothing to be nervous about! I'm pretty sure Bradly's way more nervous than you are."
I raised a brow at her, meeting her eyes as she stepped back to observe her work. "Easy for you to say, you're not the one getting married in an hour!"
A knock on the door suddenly rang out through the tiny bride room, interrupting our teasing moment. Phoenix gave me one last look before stepping to the door. "And I don't think I ever will." She smirked, opening the door allow an over enthusiastic Penny and smiling Amelia inside.
"Azzie!" Penny beamingly strode over to me, embracing me so tightly that I swear she squeezed out all my breath. I chuckled, returning the hug, her sparkling mood infectious.
Amelia greeted me and then I was ordered to sit down so my makeup could be done, something I was definitely an amateur at, but Amelia was quick to assure me that she was studying to become a makeup artist as a hobby, so she had it covered.
After a few shared stories and laughs, the hair and makeup was done and it was time to get in the dress.
It was fairly easy to get in it, the girls helping to add last adjustments while Penny waited outside to be surprised. When everything was in place, I stepped out of the tiny bathroom and smiled as Penny's eyes immediately filled with tears, her hands flying up to her mouth as she took in the full look.
"Oh Az." She stood as I turned to look in the mirror. "You look breathtaking."
The woman staring back at me looked almost foreign; my brunette locks styled perfectly with two strands loose in the front, framing my face, the simplistic makeup brightening my features, and the dress;
the bodice, adorned with intricate lace, hugged my figure. Thin straps rested on my shoulders, giving way to a sweetheart neckline that gently framed my collarbone. The lace detailing cascading from the bodice and faded gently down the skirt.
The skirt itself had tulle billowing out from the waist and extended into a long, flowing train that trailed behind me with every step. The dress was paired with a veil that fell gracefully down my back.
The woman staring back at me was a stranger in the best way possible, she was everything I dreamed of and more. It was unbelievable that I had finally reached this moment.
"I don't know what to say." I whispered, my voice becoming thick with emotion, this time emotion I felt I didn't need to hide.
Suddenly the door burst open and Maya (A/N aka Callsign 'Loki' incase you forgot bc I totally did😂) ran in panting, almost tripping over her own feet. "Did I miss anything?"
I let out a chuckle and grinned at her. "No, not at all."
***(Bradly's POV)
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pee my pants if my nerves get any more frayed.
"Wow. You and Az really do have a lot in common." Maverick stated from where he was standing behind me as I stared at my reflection.
I met his gaze in the mirror, my brow raising in question at his amused statement. "What do you mean?"
He only chuckled, winking as he said. "Eh. You'll probably find out soon enough."
I opened my mouth to tell him off for his vague answer, but was cut off when my groomsmen, i.e. Payback, Fanboy, Coyote, and yes, even Hangman, walked in, all clad in clean suits and beaming smiles.
"Well well, don't you spruce up nice?" Hangman grinned in his annoyingly smug way, striding toward Mav and I.
I turned to face him with a slight smile tilting my lips. "You don't clean up so bad yourself."
Further greetings were exchanged and we all finished getting ready when Mav's phone pinged with a message. He glanced at it with a smile and then looked back to me.
"They're almost ready. I'm just going to go have a first look real quick. You ready Bradly?" He said as he placed a comforting hand on my shoulder, his eyes searching
mine.I let out a breath, shrugging slightly. "I don't know, but probably as ready as I'll ever be."
Mav grinned, squeezing my shoulder. "You're gonna be great, kid. I'll see you in a little bit."
And with that, he left the room, on his way to see the person my heart was racing to see.
***
(Maverick's POV)
I took a breath, my hand resting on the door handle of her suite. Was I ready for the significant sight I was about to see? Probably not.
This was a day I have been both excited for and loathing. Because seeing my little girl in that dress, seeing the light in her eyes that I hoped, but knew in my heart, I wouldn't always be the only cause for her smile to shine.
This would be a magical moment, one I would forever hold dear-
A ping from my phone made me glace down.
*Penny*
*"C'mon Mav, it's not gonna help if you stand outside, now will it?"*I chuckled to myself, classic Penny.
And with that I opened the door and stepped in just as she turned around to face me. And I swear, it's like I've forgotten how to breathe......
This is it.
