Scarlett's eyes glinted with malicious as she studied the book. The book directed her to a certain page where a spell was written in bold.
"This could be exactly what I need," she murmured, her voice a whisper in the quiet forest.
Scarlett's voice echoed through the forest as she completed the incantation. The air around her crackled with palpable energy and a dark mist began to swirl around her, coalescing into a form that radiated of a malevolent power.
The mist solidified into a towering, ominous figure. Its form was shrouded in darkness and the creature's eyes glowed with a malevolent light as it stretched out its hands. In a swift motion, the ancient book flew from Scarlett and the creature's hands enveloped the book, and in a moment, the book was absorbed into the figure's form.
Scarlett watched in awe as all this happened. The mist gradually dissipated, revealing the full form of the creature. It glowed with an eerie red light, its skeletal body encased in dark, jagged armor. Torn, red glowing fabric draped from its back, adding to its menacing appearance.
"At last," the creature spoke, its voice resonating with a deep, rumbling echo. "I am free from that accursed prison." It turned its gaze to Scarlett, its eyes glowing with a fierce intensity. "You are the one who released me."
"You were trapped in that book?" Scarlett asked, her curiosity mingling with her apprehension.
"Yes," the creature replied, its voice a dark whisper. "After my former body was destroyed, I had to regenerate. I just needed someone with enough darkness in their heart to set me free."
"And the Eye of the Ancestresses?" Scarlett enquired, her voice tinged with a mix of intrigue and suspicion.
"It's a vessel for the essence of the three prime witches' powers—the very power I bestowed upon them," he explained, its voice resonating with an eerie echo.
"Who are you?" Scarlett asked, her voice steady despite the growing unease.
"I am the Shadow Phoenix," the entity declared, its eyes glowing with a sinister light. "And you, Scarlett, are now serving the forces of pure evil and darkness."
"Then you must know I don't work alone," Scarlett said, her tone edged with determination.
"I am aware," the Shadow Phoenix replied, its voice echoing ominously. "I only hope that you and your companions will prove more cooperative than the last set of witches I worked with."
Scarlett's eyes narrowed as she met the Shadow Phoenix's gaze. "We'll be more than cooperative."
The Shadow Phoenix's glowing red eyes flickered with a hint of approval. "Good. Now we depart," he said. With a swift, ominous movement, he transformed into a massive, dark bird, its wings spanning wide and casting an eerie shadow over the forest floor.
Scarlett watched in awe as the Shadow Phoenix took flight, his form merging with the night sky. She felt a powerful surge of energy as the dark entity enveloped her, and together they vanished from the forest.
In the dim confines of Light-Rock, the monks continued their unceasing watch over the witches. The night air was heavy with the weight of the witches' quiet despair.
Inside the room where Electra and Tasma lay, their fiery spirits had dulled to a sullen acceptance. They were barely speaking. Suddenly the tranquillity of their confinement was abruptly shattered when a powerful gust of wind swept through the room, extinguishing the flickering candles.
The sudden darkness was accompanied by an ominous rustling sound, and the shadows in the corners of the room seemed to thicken and move. Electra and Tasma sat up in alarm, their eyes scanning the room in anticipation.
Before they could react, the Shadow Phoenix materialised in the centre of the room, its towering, skeletal form illuminated by an eerie, red glow. Scarlett appeared beside him, her face a mask of grim determination. The Shadow Phoenix let out a harsh caw, and with a flurry of dark feathers.
Electra's eyes widened in disbelief as the dark magic swirled around them, coalescing into a vortex of dark energy. Tasma moved to cast a defensive spell, but her magic fizzled out, powerless against the ancient evil before them. The room was filled with the crackling sound of dark magic and the chilling screech of the Shadow Phoenix.
"What is this?!" Electra shouted, trying to shield herself with her hands.
"You're leaving this place," Scarlett said, her voice cold and unyielding. "The Shadow Phoenix and I have come to offer you a new path. One of unmeasurable power."
Tasma tried to scramble away, but the dark vortex was too powerful. The Shadow Phoenix extended his claws, and with a burst of intense energy, the swirling shadows enveloped Electra and Tasma. Their cries of protest were swallowed by the darkness as they were lifted from the ground, their forms twisting and contorting within the magical storm.
In an instant, the Shadow Phoenix and Scarlett vanished with their captive witches, leaving behind only a lingering echo of their dark magic. The room fell silent once more, the monks who had sensed the disturbance too late to intervene. The shadows receded, and the candles flickered back to life, casting a dull glow on the empty, dishevelled room.
Back in the forest near Cloud Tower, the Shadow Phoenix released Electra and Tasma from the vortex. The witches landed roughly on the ground, their eyes wide with fear and confusion. Scarlett stood nearby, her expression resolute.
"Welcome to the next chapter of our journey," the Shadow Phoenix intoned, his voice like a cold wind through the trees. "We have much to accomplish, and you have a pivotal role to play."
Electra and Tasma looked at each other, their resistance giving way to the realisation of their new reality.
"Scarlett, what? Just a week ago you were chasing squirrels in the park," Tasma said, her voice laced with disbelief.
"It doesn't matter; she's back," Electra said, her smile taking on a wicked edge.
"After sending us back to Light-Rock?" Tasma's tone was sharp, still harbouring resentment.
"Would you stop being pathetic and be glad I got your weak behinds out of Light-Rock?" Scarlett snapped. "We have a new master now. He has promised us immense power."
"Now we begin our quest for ultimate power," the Shadow Phoenix declared. "The kind that has always eluded me. This time, there will be no mistakes."
The Shadow Phoenix's dark form enveloped them all, and with a sudden, sweeping motion, they vanished from the forest.
Scarlett, Electra, and Tasma found themselves in an ominous, shadow-filled realm, the air thick with foreboding energy. The Shadow Phoenix loomed above them, his red eyes glowing with malevolent intent.
"From here, we will lay the groundwork for our ultimate conquest," the Shadow Phoenix intoned, his voice echoing through the darkness. "We will gather the power needed to bend all of Magix to our will."
Scarlett, her resolve hardened and her eyes gleaming with dark purpose, nodded in agreement. "We're ready. No more delays."
Electra and Tasma, energised by their newfound power and freed from Light-Rock, shared eager looks. The prospect of revenge and great power fuelled their anticipation.
The Shadow Phoenix's form twisted and expanded, taking on a colossal and intimidating presence. "Let the dark plan unfold," he said. "We shall rise to power and claim what is rightfully ours."
As the Shadow Phoenix spread his dark wings, the shadows around them deepened, swirling and shifting like a living entity. With a final, thunderous roar, the darkness closed in, leaving the realm and its occupants cloaked in an impenetrable veil of shadow.
