A/N: I tried writing a filler chapter, but I ended up with a long storyline and I had to break it into smaller chapters. I hope you all enjoyed it. Now to the main story.

A week later, the fairies resumed their full-time classes. Despite the return to the usual routine, a lingering sense of unease remained. There was something dark and ominous on the horizon.
Alphea, knowing it was a likely target for the witches' next move, began fortifying its defences, setting up protective wards around the school.
Meanwhile, in the Netherrealm, the witches continued to plot their next move, searching for a way to breach Alphea.
"Normally, I have no problem blasting through Alphea's barriers," Scarlett said, "but doing so would put us at a disadvantage."
"And the Master's minions can't last long outside the Netherrealm," Electra added.
"Speaking of the Master," Tasma said, frowning, "Isn't it strange that he hasn't called us out for slacking off?"
"We're not slacking," Scarlett snapped.
"I mean, he didn't even react when we lost the pixies," Tasma continued.
"I hope he's not planning on replacing us," Electra murmured.
"He would never find witches as reliable as us," Scarlett growled, "We already got the first two pieces of the codex for him; he is not going to get rid of us that easily."
"Scarlett, Tasma, Electra," the Shadow Phoenix's voice echoed.
"I guess we're about to get a scolding," Tasma muttered, earning a sharp glare from Scarlett.
The witches appeared before the Shadow Phoenix, bowing respectfully.
"Yes, your royal darkness," Scarlett replied, her voice filled with reverence.
"We were occupied before you summoned us, Master," Tasma explained. "We were strategising on how to obtain the last two pieces of the Codex."
"But we only took our time to ensure the plan was flawless," Electra added.
"We apologise for the de—"
"Silence!" The Shadow Phoenix's voice cut through the air, halting Scarlett mid-sentence.
He gazed down at them, his fiery eyes glowing ominously. "You think I care about your plans? Your concerns over a perfect plan are irrelevant."
The witches exchanged uneasy glances.
"I gave you a task," the Shadow Phoenix continued, "but it seems you're already at your wit's end."
"It's not like that, Master," Scarlett quickly responded.
"Forget about retrieving the remaining codex pieces," the Shadow Phoenix commanded.
"What?" Tasma exclaimed in disbelief.
"Yes, you heard me," the Shadow Phoenix said.
The witches fell silent, processing his words. They had invested so much effort into gathering the Codex, only to now be told to abandon the task.
"Master, if we abandon our current plan, what is it that you want us to focus on instead?" Electra asked, her voice hesitant.
The Shadow Phoenix simply answered. "Nothing."
"Nothing?" Scarlett repeated, confusion in her voice. "But you said we needed to assemble the pieces for the ultimate power..."
"I said that," the Shadow Phoenix interrupted, his voice sharp, "but now I'm telling you to stop. And that's an order."
