Outside, the sky morphed tangerine, a color that Hyunjin would need to mix to become perfected on his canvas, but still beautiful nonetheless. The extra work was enough for him because this was always his perfect time of day to paint, especially from his new painting corner. The window in the estate was angled longways just enough for Hyunjin to sit on the ledge of it. It was pillowed and cushioned and a good place to nap.

After nearly a year of his sugar baby duties, the vampires had practically begged for Hyunjin to move in with them, only after announcing that they wanted to break their contract. At first- Hyunjin had panicked and assumed that they were simply throwing him to the curb once they got tired of sucking his blood- he nearly punched them- but then they scrambled to explain that they were tired of being under the confines of a contract. They wanted to be able to date him, and Hyunjin was madly confused about just why seven hot vampires would want to date a human like him in the first place- to which they practically scrambled over each other again to explain that they wanted to spoil him with paying rent and giving him his own money and presents.

Hyunjin had been, rightfully, shocked, and they gave him a solid week to ponder over his options, even if there was really only one option that he could possibly choose in the end. He wanted to date them, therefore terminated the contract, but didn't want to move in just yet.

He wished to keep his apartment just in case things fell through and they somehow changed their minds. A compromise was met, and he paid rent with his own money he made from his art while they gave him an entire bedroom right next to Jeongin's, as well as his own art room.

Hyunjin thought that he would never in his life be lucky enough to afford an entire separate room just for him to paint, yet here he was. The sheer curtains fluttered in the orange haze of the sunset while Hyunjin simply took a moment to enjoy the breeze on his face, brushing dark locks back. The room smelled of familiar paints and acrylics, a smell that Hyunjin enjoyed in the way that made him light headed. The light pastels they had painted the room upon moving him in were relaxing only covered by the multiple canvases hung- finished and incomplete works all the same.

Hyunjin spent more time in this singular room than anywhere else- it was his livelihood and most of the time he fell asleep during his work, only to wake up tucked under the covers of his own bed with a glass of water on the nightstand and a fresh pair of pajama clothes on. It was nice. Endearing. Hyunjin had never experienced this type of love before, not in his entire life.

The sun sunk low into the horizon, hiding behind the darkening tree-line while the nocturnal forest critters scurried out to play. Unfortunately, Hyunjin didn't have photographic memory nor was he the finest photographer, so he couldn't take a snapshot of the sunset to continue on his painting, though he did at least get the base layer down.

With a grunt and the popping of his backbone, Hyunjin stood from the windows ledge to stretch out his bones. They felt compressed from sitting curled up for so long, aches pinged uncomfortably from joint to joint. Neuron to neuron. Music played softly in the background, a playlist he always put on shuffle that contained most art and a little bit of 3RACHA's songs. Hyunjin had begged Jeongin to send him voice memos of his siren voice, but the youngest only gave him a teasing smile with refusal.

Humming along under his breath, Hyunjin set the stale bristled brushes aside to hang the new painting up to dry on the rack he had set up in the corner of the room. It took a moment of pondering to contemplate which painting to move on to next before sliding the beach sky one out. He still needed to draw the swooping lines of the seagulls. This particular painting had a due date, afterall.
