Jeongin
Hyunjin's birthday was coming up, and Jeongin was practically tearing his hair out with the stress of just what he was going to get his Hyung. Sure, birthdays were supposed to be a joyous occasion to celebrate with company rather than presents- but it was no secret that Hyunjin had taken a liking to Jeongin and was fond of him. And no matter how much Jeongin denied it to the cameras or the others- he felt the same.
Which meant that Jeongin had no idea what to get him.
For Jeongin's birthdays- Hyunjin always went way overboard and got him expensive jewelry that he thought would look good with his outfits and even his favorite pair of clunky shoes that were whacky but he loved so much. Birthdays weren't a competition- but how could he possibly top that?
Hyunjin was eccentric, but he was picky. He had an acquired taste which made Jeongin stray away from giving him any clothes. Hats? Maybe- but he already had about ten thousand Versace hats for free because that Donetella woman loved him so much. Shoes? Jeongin didn't even know his Hyungs shoe size. What kind of Makne was he?
"Hyung?" Jeongin asked, looking over to Felix at his side. The two of them were shopping at the market for their dinner ingredients because Minho was feeling under the weather and they wanted to cheer him up. (They promised not to burn any food.)
"Hmm?" Felix asked, pushing the grocery cart along and placing a few bagged vegetables inside. When Jeongin didn't respond, he stopped to look at him with worry. "What is it? Did I get the wrong ingredients?"
"What? No-" Jeongin spared a glance at the list. "No, you got the right stuff. I was going to ask what you're getting Hyunjin for his upcoming birthday."
When Felix sent a little secretive smile over his shoulder, his smattering of freckles creasing, Jeongin knew that he was done for. "You can't tell him."
"I wasn't going to. I'm just trying to figure out what I should get him."
Felix smiled kindly, but slightly mocking. "You usually aren't one to stress about gifts- especially when it comes to Hyunjin." His eyes practically sparkled with mischief and Jeongin quickly shot down whatever thought he was having.
"Whatever you're thinking- it's not like that. What're you getting him?"
"Well," they entered the spice aisle and it was blessedly empty. They put on a heavy disguise and some fans on the street still noticed them- but luckily they kept a respectful distance. "I managed to go to a gallery and purchase a piece from one of his favorite artists."
And Jeongin facepalmed because really- there was no possible way that he could top that. Felix was too good. Then again, maybe it was because he was caring to a fault. To test his theory- Jeongin went and very nonchalantly asked the others about their gifts, and to his misfortune, they were all good. No one slacked this year because they knew it had been a rough one for Hyunjin- not even Minho, who got him a toilet plunger with a bow on top last year.
As the special date approached closer and closer and Jeongin doom scrolled online for good gifts (on the brink of exhaustion and nearly falling asleep) something in particular caught his eye. Something so unforgettable that no matter how much he scrolled, he still couldn't get it out of his head. It was a risky gift- but it was unique and tailored.
Maybe it was because Jeongin was half asleep, or maybe it was because he was desperate, he clicked purchase and promptly passed out on the bed with his phone held in his limp hand.
