Chan

Hyunjin could not get any sleep for the life of him. The on and off nights of insomnia with lack of sleep were starting to get to him mentally and physically, and Hyunjin had had enough.

"Be careful with dosing that," Jisung warned as he watched Hyunjin down at least three melatonin. The type of melatonin that could easily knock even Changbin out with only half the dose. Hyunjin dry swallowed the pills, and Jisung blinked. "...or not."

Hyunjin, looking groggy and dead on his feet, placed the pills back in the cabinet and logged the medication doses in his notes app to report to the manager later. Jisung just leaned against the counter top and watched the entire time. It looked like Hyunjin would fall over at any given moment. "Umm... are you okay?"

"Mhm," Hyunjin hummed, and it didn't look too convincing with how dead his eyes looked. They were already drooping from the medication.

"...okay... how about you get to bed before you pass out?"

And Hyunjin only made it as far as the couch, but Jisung figured that it was the best they would get. He draped a blanket over him and returned to his own room with a plate in hand. He would have led Hyunjin back to his room, but he was deadweight and Jisung wouldn't be able to Carry him himself no matter how hard Changbin pushed himself at the gym.

He shot Chan a message reminding him to check on Hyunjin to make sure he was still alive whenever he returned from the studio because lately he had stayed later than everyone else.

Chan hadn't checked his phone in a while, crammed in the studio, because it was midnight by the time he packed up his office and left- and no sane person would be awake now.

Apparently, he was wrong and he should start to check his phone more often, because when he silently entered the dorm like he was escaping a one night stand- he was nearly scared shitless when he noticed he wasn't alone in the room.

By the time he set his bags down and was practically salivating at the mouth at the thought of a hot shower- a certain noise broke him from his stupor. A small, desperate one that sounded like a wounded animal whimpering.

The first option was that their dorm was haunted and they would need a new one- and the other was that a stray animal had somehow made it into their dorm. Maybe Jisung or Hyunjin tried to hide one way from him. Chan mentally mulled over getting in the shower and forgetting he heard anything at all, but decided against it when he heard the pitiful noise again from their living area.

Turning on the flashlight to his phone, he aimed it towards the living room and his heart nearly jumped to his throat when he noticed Hyunjin sprawled on the couch- all drool and long limbs- with a blanket haphazardly tossed to the floor. At first, Chan thought he was just sleeping- but then he made the noise and Chan realized that there was no injured animal.

Hyunjin was, apparently, having a bad dream.

And yeah- his back would surely hurt from laying there for too long the next morning. There was discomfort written all over his face as he whimpered and curled in on himself as if to protect from imaginary attackers. His chest rose and fell unevenly and tears streamed down his face. Chan couldn't just ignore this and go take his long awaited shower.

He shuffled closer to flick on the table lamp and fill the room with warm light before settling down on the coffee table across the couch. "Hyunjin?" He asked and watched sadly as Hyunjin's bottom lip jutted out and he wiggled around again. He looked as if he wanted to say something in his sleep- but whatever came out of his mouth was too jumbled to understand.
