Seasick

Hyunjin really shouldn't have lost at that rock paper scissors game, because now he was on a boat at seven in the morning with a fishing pole in his hands.

They were filming a SKZ code episode, and Hyunjin lost the stupid game- landing his ass onto a boat in cold morning weather- so muggy that the sun wasn't even In the sky.

At least he had Jisung and Seungmin to suffer alongside him- and neither of them looked too thrilled at the prospect of fishing in the turbulent waters either.

Before they left (it was still dark outside then) the manager had forced them to pop pills that would apparently help them with any seasickness- but Hyunjin was too tired to actually ask what it was.

It only made him drowsy.

Not drowsy enough to sleep on the ship, because the constant rocking was keeping him annoyingly awake.

While Jisung and Seungmin remained to the back of the boat as they drove out, Hyunjin lingered at the front and let the wind blow through his hair and make his nose red with the cold. It was worth it though- because the fresh air prevented him from throwing up.

It was fine when they were moving- but when they stopped and the staff put bait on the poles for them to cast out the rod- it got a lot worse.

Standing still and sleepily blinking down at the waves only made Hyunjin feel off kilter.

"I got one!" Jisung shouted happily, breaking the morning silence as he reeled his first fish in. And then another. And then another one after that.

Hyunjin tried his best to act excited for the camera, complaining about how he'd never got even a bite and demanding to trade spots with Jisung, but after thirty minutes at sea- he decided that the medication he ingested was not working.

Dazed, he glanced over at Seungmin and Jisung to see if the two of them were affected, but they just happily reeled in their catches.

So- that was a no.

"Thirty minutes left before we head back!" The boat operator announced and the cameramen around them were quick to work on strapping down their equipment.

Thirty minutes.

Hyunjin tightened his grip around the fishing pole.

He could do thirty minutes.

Twenty minutes later, he was leaning over the side of the boat and retching out whatever dinner was left in his stomach.

"Hyunjin?!" Jisung cried, instantly rushing over to rub circles into Hyunjin's back as he vomited into the sea below. Seungmin, on his other side, kept his shoulders secure so that he didn't tip over the side of the boat and fall into the sea.

Hyunjin groaned and nearly choked on his own vomit until everything finally abandoned his system.

Hyunjin went limp, but Seungmin and Jisung carefully lowered him to lean back against the ship's railing.

"Are you done now?" Jisung asked, brushing the hair away that fell out of Hyunjin's beanie. Hyunjin just weakly nodded, hiccuping pitifully. He didn't have anymore energy to expend other than clamping a hand to his mouth when he grew green again.

He spoke too soon.

Suddenly, a bin was being placed underneath his mouth and his head was being lowered down as he released even more of his stomach.

He heard the faint chatter of the cameramen and crew above them, ordering the ship operator to head back inland before his sickness could get any worse.
