Minho
Something was obviously wrong with Hyunjin, and it didn't take a genius to figure it out. Their schedules had thankfully been less packed lately, but that didn't mean they were working any less harder. Hyunjin especially.
Minho noticed him staying even later after their normal dance practices to work on moves that he thought he could make 'better' (even if Minho himself had told him that it was perfectly fine.)
When Hyunjin first came to Minho as a stumbling teenager, asking for his advice on how to dance because he had two left feet- Minho helped for his own amusement to see the way he looked like newborn deer. And then, he worked his ass off to the point of exhaustion and Minho watched as he blossomed right before his very eyes. His dance style was fluid and his body isolations were sharp and full of life- just like his personality.
Minho was glad to see the type of person he had grown into with his assistance- but he didn't appreciate seeing him work his ass off over the imaginary mistakes he was making.
He knew it all started with one stupid comment. He knew that Hyunjin liked to doom scroll until he was crying in bed at the bad comments because he was much more sensitive than Minho was.
They were all in a group live together in the dorm's living room, a camera recording them while they all logged onto the lives on their own phones so that they could answer comments. The others were all laughing rambunctiously around them, dog piled on each other like normal.
Hyunjin was the closest to Minho with his legs splayed across his lap and Minho's hand thumbing circles into his sweatpants-clad thighs. It was easy for Minho to see the second Hyunjin's face dropped when he scanned over the comments.
Minho, lightning fast, grabbed the phone from Hyunjin's hands, and Hyunjin didn't even try to take it back as Minho scanned over the comments that had the '@ Hyunjinnn' on them. It didn't take long to find the ones that made Hyunjin seem so stricken.
'@ Hyunjinnn, your face is so pretty that you don't even have to try hard. I'm sooo Jealous.'
'@ Hyunjinnn, face card never declines. Just sit there and look pretty on the stage so STAY can get some pictures lol lol.'
Minho turned the phone off and placed it far away from out of their reach before he could crack the phone or Hyunjin could start crying. Sensing the trouble, Chan grabbed Hyunjin's phone with a tight smile and passed it off to the side. This, sadly, wasn't the first time this had happened.
Minho dramatically pulled Hyunjin down into a rare hug and ruffled his hair until Hyunjin was no longer mopey, but giggling and complaining in his hold until he flopped down on top of him and accepted his fate. Everything was fine all the way up until Felix read a comment out loud with his deeper voice. "Hyunjin is perfect visual, he really adds on to the group." Felix paused. "Hmm,.. I think we're all pretty diverse looking."
The way he deflected the comment had the staff nodding in approval from behind the camera, but when Hyunjin tensed in Minho's arms- Minho couldn't just sit by idly anymore. "Stay," he addressed the camera, cupping Hyunjin's face in his hands and angling it so that their audience could see. Hyunjin blinked In confusion as Minho squished his cheeks. "Hyunjin may be good looking- but he's also a good worker. And dancer. Don't underestimate that."
