And Hyunjin really did not have any good luck with the Australian animals for the remainder of their vacation, because the next day he was bitten by a venomous snake on the hiking trail.
They took the day after landing to simply gather themselves and unpack all of their clothes. They visited the store and purchased enough groceries to feed a small army, and then they ended the day by swimming in the infinity pool and then moving to the ocean when Jeongin jumped in on a dare. The weather was pretty. Too beautiful to portray in any of his paintings. He decided that he wouldn't sell them anyway- he would give them to Chan and Felix for when they missed their home and wanted to look at the ocean.
They had an entire week in Australia before 3RACHA had to actually perform, since the festival was an entire month long. They would go to the concerts every night to party and listen to the music, and during the days, they would explore the land and the two natives would take them to their favorite places.
And apparently- one of those places included an intense hiking trail that nearly had Hyunjin on his hands and knees in the heat begging for mercy.
"You seriously call this fun?" Hyunjin asked, bent over and panting on the gravel. Jisung leaned over him, breathing even more dramatically even if Hyunjin doubted he was even affected since he was a vampire and had the stamina of a superhuman. Hyunjin would just suffer with him in solidarity and assume he wasn't the only one making an embarrassment of himself.
"This is the best part of it," Chan laughed, offering a hand to help the both of them up. "The sweat pays off once you reach the top and see the view."
Hyunjin could only roll his eyes and let the group continue trekking up the steep incline like mountain goats because most of them didn't even look tired. They all glistened like greek gods under the Australian sun and sometimes Hyunjin hated being a human because he probably looked like a sweaty mess next to them.
Whatever- at least he knew that they weren't boning anyone else.
By the time they finally made it to the top of the viewpoint Hyunjin set his bag down and basically collapsed, and by the time he dragged his tired body up to look at the view he was forced to admit that Chan was right. The view of the beach and the swaying trees below nearly stole the breath from his lungs and he wished that he could just sit here and paint forever.
"We can come back here earlier in the day so you can spend more time, if you want." Changbin offered, as if reading Hyunjins mind, and Hyunjin just nodded. It looked like the group knew him well enough to where he didn't even need to voice his wants anymore.
They sat on the rocks and shared water amongst each other and the snacks that Minho had pre-cooked for their hike. Hyunjin wouldn't mind coming back here if one of them carried him with their vampire strength. The sun was starting to settle lower in the sky and the air was growing colder.
"We should go now- we don't want to hike in the dark," Chan announced, and they all began to clamber from the rocks and grab their backpacks. And it was just Hyunjin's luck that when he stretched his leg outwards to get back onto the normal trail- a sharp pain entered his ankle. Kind of like the bite of a vampire, but much sharper and more painful.
