The sound of breaking glass woke Enrico up from his peaceful slumber. Birds are chirping outside their window, but their gleeful sound are drowned out by the noise of shattering glasses downstairs.

He was quick to get out of bed. Groggy and puzzled, he rushed downstairs to where the sound is coming from--the kitchen.

Puddles of red liquor spilt on the floor with the shards of the bottles surrounded it. It almost looked like a bloody scene from a movie.

"Don't come near me!" Carisia yelled when one of their house staff tried to walk over to her.

They were all surrounding her, but couldn't come any closer as if a force field was preventing them to do so.

"Layo! Mabububog kayo," Enrico warned everyone as he tried to cross over the puddled floor, avoiding the sharp bits of the broken bottles.

He noticed her squiffy eyes, hinting that she must've been drinking.

"Umagang umaga, lasing ka."

His words immediately sent the wrong message to his wife who was already eyeing him badly.

"Get out!" Carisia yelled hoarsely.

She was holding another bottle by the neck, leaving Enrico under the impression that she's about to break another again so he swiftly grasped her wrists tightly as he forcefully took away the bottle.

"Bitawan mo ako! Ano ba!" she writhed, trying to escape from his tight grasp. Her eyes bursted into tears as she went on with her tantrum.

"Tama na! Umagang umaga, Cari!" he scolded her.

The silence of the household staff just added to the awkward tension in the kitchen as they tried to avoid watching the scene, but still being intrigued to keep an eye on the current commotion.

Enrico looked around the floor for a safe path, and he carefully dragged his wife out of the scene, leaving the staff to clean up the morning mess she made.

It wasn't easy bringing her upstairs to the room because of her reluctant movements, but Enrico managed.

Upon locking the door, Carisia successfully freed herself from him. Her eyes appeared furious as she stared at him.

"Bakit ka nagbabasag? What's happening to you?" Enrico asked, still not in the mood to deal with problems such as this, early in the morning.

"Pwede ba? Huwag mo akong pakialaman!" she yelled at him.

He massaged the bridge of his nose as the morning headache settled on his temples.

"It hurts enough to know that I don't have anybody to run to, so when I have meltdowns like that, can you please just leave me be?" she spoke in a rather calmer tone.

Enrico sighed. "Delikado kasi 'yung ginagawa mo. You could've hurt yourself."

She raised an eyebrow upon hearing his words. "And what do you care?"

"I care because you're my wife. You may think na walang may pakialam sa'yo, pero meron, okay?"

Her eyes brimmed with warm liquid so she turned her face away before her husband could witness her moment of weakness.

"Stop with your fake concern. We all know that you see me far from being your wife," she muttered as she secretly wiped her tears away.

They were like pristine pearls, her tears, racing down her cheeks to reflect the weight of her feelings.

Enrico, who lacked the words to reassure his wife, walked closer to her. She quickly noticed his attempt of comforting her so she took a few steps away from him.

"If this is about Amira--"

She cut him off. "It is! This is so unfair! Ang unfair ng sitwasyon na 'to! Ng set up na 'to! Ako lang ang miserable sa ating lahat habang kayo, you're all benefitting from my misery!" she ranted furiously.

He was left with no words to say, just letting her speak her heart out.

"I can't escape from everything that's been weighing me down, and it hurts! I know that I have every right to stop you from looking elsewhere, pero parang wala akong karapatan! Ang hirap mong pakisamahan, Enrico. Nasasakal ako sa tuwing nakakalaya ka."

The gravity of her emotions got the best of her, causing her to break down in tears in front of him. She didn't want to appear helpless, but her helplessness was already out in the open.

"Did you even know kung bakit ko kasama si Amira? Did you bother to find out?" Enrico asked, catching Carisia's attention.

"She's leaving. Now, we can both be miserable," he revealed.

Carisia, even in her helpless state, managed to let out a few laughs. It seemed crazy, but Enrico was already used to her villainous antics for him to be bothered by a little act of madness.

"And just when I thought of it as unfair, the universe managed to make things fair for me," she chuckled.

***

Carisia

I woke up with a throbbing headache. The clock on my bedside table read 2:56 P.M.

"What the hell? I slept in?" I confusedly asked as I palmed my forehead.

Only then did this morning's events occured to me. I broke so many wine bottles! Sa sobrang galit ko kay Enrico, ang dami kong binasag sa kusina.

My conciousness was uncontrolled this morning, and the only way I thought of, to get rid of that awful, suffocating feeling in my chest is to break things.

I don't deal with anger very well, and that makes my life even worse.

The last thing I remember was him, tucking me in bed before he got ready for work.

We didn't settle the argument, given that I was not in my usual self.

Amira's leaving, but why do I still feel this way?

She's the reason for my misery! I should be celebrating that finally, she'll be leaving.

Ang gusto ko lang naman, maging patas ang siwasyon namin ni Enrico. Pero bakit kahit na ganitong mawawalan na siya ng kakampi, ang bigat pa rin ng loob ko? Parang hindi pa rin ako masaya.
