Carisia

I had one of the best sleeps I've had in a while because of the comfy pillows that Enrico ordered to be placed in our room while we were away for London. It looks like a pillow dreamland, no kidding.

Looks like Enrico already left for work. I was all alone in bed when I woke up.

Well, I have to get ready na rin for my doctor's appointment.

My body is in a lethargic state today, and the best and only option for me is to stay in bed if not for my appointment.

Because of my sluggish state, I just opted to wear one of my strap, summer dresses para hindi hassle mamili at magsuot ng damit. I'll just have to slip it on.

Before leaving, I decided to have breakfast at home para hindi na ako mag-stopover pa sa restaurants outside. Maalinsangan sa daan, and I hate getting out of the car with that dirty, humid air greeting me.

As I entered the dining room, I was surprised to find a variety of breakfast dishes laid out on the table as if there was a feast for a whole family.

I walked over to my seat, and I leaned over to run my eyes through the delicious meals in front of me.

I felt someone walk past me, with their arm brushing across my back. From the strong scent, I know it's Enrico.

He planted soft kisses on my cheek, with his arm tightening its grip on my waist. "Sit down, so we can have breakfast before we leave," he whispered.

I turned my head to look at him in confusion. "We?" I emphasized.

"Yes, ihahatid kita sa OB mo before I head for the office. Upo na." He pulled the chair for me, and even though I was surprised and taken aback with his kind gesture, I just accepted it.

He is weirdly affectionate, and I'm starting to miss our petty fights. Ever since he found out that I'm pregnant, ganyan na siya.

Change of heart?

Well, we'll see how long this act of kindness will last. I know he's doing it to make sure the baby is safe and well.

On the bright side, at least he's not stressing me out. Mabuti naman at naiisipan niyang magpakatino.

"How will I get home if ihahatid mo ako?" I asked him.

He was scooping some fried rice but then he stopped to look at me, his brows slightly furrowed. "I'll fetch you. No problem. Just text me when you're done."

I pursed my lips and nodded my head as he pointed to the food, as if telling me to eat na.

"I was surprised when Enrico called me to schedule an appointment for you," Dra. Ferrera said, while updating my medical records from our consult today.

I've been fidgeting with my nails, picking on it just to alleviate my boredom and tension that I somehow have right now. "I told him about it. There's no point in keeping it a secret," I uttered quietly, almost sounding like a whisper.

I felt her eyes on me so I glanced at her, and she flashed a comforting smile.

Dra. Ferrera has been like a close friend to me since she became my OB Gyne. I feel safe telling her stuff that I don't usually tell anyone aside from my friends. Even when I found out that I was pregnant, and she had connections with Enrico-- she never shared a single detail to him about it.

"How did he react?"

I sighed, recalling everything that's happened for the past days.

"He's happy about it. I think. Kung ano ano nang pinagbibili for me para sa health ng baby," I shared to her.
