Carisia

I'm just a few weeks far from my due date, and as the days draw near, I can't help but feel all sorts of emotions setting upon me.

To ease the anxiety that comes with the excitement, I try to regularly spend a few minutes of my day in the baby nursery, just so I could get a feel of how it's going to be, once the baby is here.

It's all set. Just a few decorations to complete the cozy feeling.

Next to her crib is a light pink rocking chair that I requested to Enrico, which I'm going to be using when the baby's here already, so we can spend time together in here.

I'm almost done with the blankie embroidery that I've been working on for a few days now. I embroidered her name on a little, cream-colored blanket that she'll be using soon!

"Castalia Evyn..." I whispered as I ran the tips of my fingers over the unfinished embroidery.

You are the new beginning that I have been waiting for so long. The fresh page that I'll make sure to write properly on.

"Do you think Callista sounds good?" I asked Enrico while scrolling through my phone browser.

We're already done with the day, and we're just relaxing on the bed, waiting for sleep to set in.

He scooted over next to me and peeked on the phone screen. "I don't know. Does it sound good to you?" He asked as he put his arm around my belly.

I rested my head on the crook of his neck as we continued looking through baby names together.

Never in a million years did I imagine that I'll be snuggled up in bed, picking baby names with Enrico, my arranged groom.

"Medyo tagilid ako sa Callista, it might sound a bit too mature for her," I opposed my own suggestion.

No one told me that choosing a name for a baby is this nerve-wracking!

"This is so stressful. I feel like I'm literally choosing her future for her! This name might get her bullied... o-or she might hate it so much that she'd want to legally change her name once she's 18...or--"

"Don't everthink it, babe. What if she loves her name so much because she'll know that we chose it?" he suggested so I flashed him a knowing look.

"Enrico, no kids ever told their parents that they love the chosen name for them. We all hated our names at some point," I pointed out, but for some reason, it made him laugh.

"I like my name. You don't like yours?" he chuckled.

I rolled my eyes, thinking about all the times that I had to correct people's spelling and pronunciation of my name!

For pete's sake, it's pronounced Cari-siya, not Carisha!

"I do...a bit," I answered.

While scrolling through the screen, an idea popped in my head so I put my phone down and I faced Enrico. He looked confused with my actions, but he eventually just went with it.

"Let's brainstorm. Ayokong tumingin sa internet. It makes me feel like the name would be too generic or common," I proposed.

He smiled a little as he stared at my eyes, before spitting a name out from his lips, "Erica. Second name," he suggested.

I twitched my lips, a bit unsure what to say. "I don't feel Erica," I honestly said.

"Erin?"
