- Weeks later -

Carisia

I don't quite like how I'm becoming very sluggish lately. I can't get any work done, and Enrico always has to take over most of my work load just so we can get through the day at the office.

In the midst of my paper works, someone knocked from outside before slightly opening the door.

It was my secretary.

"Ma'am? Someone's looking for you. I told her na busy ka po but she's insisting on talking to you," she said.

I paused and tilted my head, thinking who might that be because I can't recall my secretary setting up an appointment for me at this hour of the day.

"Sino?" I curiously asked.

"Miss Amira La Fuente raw po? Medyo aggressive po siya while talking to me, I don't think it's safe to let her in, Ma'am."

"Nice of you to think about my well- being but uhh...I'll go talk to her."

I put my pen cap back as I stood up to compose myself to talk to the unexpected visitor outside the door.

My bump has added a bit more weight on me, making it a bit harder to move as quick as I could before. I also have to be extra careful with my movements to not strain myself and the baby too much.

My secretary assisted in opening the glass door for me, so I can meet Amira outside.

I thought after the resthouse chaos she made, mapuputol na ang connection namin sa kaniya. Apparently, she's still on it. This woman really won't give up without a fight.

She was standing by the glass window, looking like she's in deep thoughts.

"Amira..." I called, catching her attention.

She looked rather calm, which I wasn't expecting because of the last time I saw her.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, so we can settle whatever it is that she came here for.

"Obviously, to talk to you," she said, smiling.

Her eyes shifted its gaze from my eyes, down to my belly, then back up to meet my eyes again.

In a protective instinct, my hand automatically tried to subtly cover my bump from her gaze.

"I just can't seem to take my mind away from the fact that you and Enrico are having a child. It sounds completely preposterous," she bitterly said.

It's amusing, really, to see her seeking attention from her ex-lover's wife. "Preposterous...how? That somehow, the man you loved is already creating a family with someone else?"

She chuckled out of her wits. "No, the fact that Enrico kept telling me that you both hated each other and yet, you are now bearing his child." She then gasped, her hand covering her mouth. "Or maybe that's not his child at all?"

My composed smile instantly faded away when I heard her mindless accusation.

"I am going to give you a chance to repeat what you just said, just in case my ears are playing with me," I tried to calmly say, before I lose my composure.

She was about to open her mouth by I cut her off. "Uh-uh! Choose your next words, wisely, honey."

She smiled, just as fake as she is. "I said, maybe that child is not his child at all--"

My hand flew across her face, and I'm not regretting every bit of it. It sounded so crisp, and it felt so good.

"How dare you, bitch!"
