Enrico

"How about you go na lang?"

I turned my head to Carisia who had just came out from the shower.

"What do you mean? The Monteavidas are expecting us, especially you," I told her.

It's quarter to 4 o'clock in the afternoon, and we're getting ready for an anniversary event of a close family friend, the Monteavidas. The matriarch and patriarch of the family are celebrating their 30th anniversary.

She walked up to the sink, right beside me, in her white bathrobe. "I don't know. I just don't feel like I look good enough to get out of the house," she mumured while reaching for her skincare basket.

I paused from what I'm doing, a bit baffled with what she said. "You what? You don't feel like you look good?" I repeated just to confirm if I heard it right.

She sighed, tilting her head to look at me. "Yes? I can't even fit into my dresses, and I look so weird and puffy," she ranted.

I tried to hide my smile so I tilted my head down to the side, concealing the uncontrollable grin that wants to escape from my lips.

She's been becoming concious about her appearance lately, and I can't help but wish that she could see herself through my eyes.

The reason is unbeknownst to me, but everytime I see her lately, with her puffy cheeks, and her little belly bump-- I just can't take my eyes off of her. She's too captivating in my eyes, that I don't even have the time to look at other people because she's got all of my attention.

"Maybe you're too caught up in trying your fitted dresses. Try wearing the loose ones and just style it however you want," I advised to somehow lift her spirits up.

"I'm sorry, I just don't feel like myself recently," she said in a low tone, almost like a whisper.

I leaned my palms against the edge of the sink, and I stared at her through the mirror, capturing her attention.

"What?" she cluelessly asked.

I kept my gaze at her because how could I possibly break away from looking at such a wonderful view?

After a little bit of a staring contest, I moved closer to her, causing her to look up at me. To prevent her from escaping, I wrapped my left arm around her waist, trapping her next to the sink.

"It's ridiculous that you're even thinking of that.  What do you mean you 'don't look good'? It's an insult to me, Carisia Ignacio."

Her expression turned confused and worried as her gaze roamed around every corner of my face.

"I just want you to be there with me later. I can't wait to show you off to everyone and give them a glimpse of what my future looks like," I said while brushing her wet hair away from her face.

A smile tugged on her lips as her gaze softened. "Such a show off," she muttered.

Darling, that's what happens when you captivate someone like me.

Ever since we got to the event, all eyes are on my wife. Makes me proud, honestly.

People are commenting on her bump, saying that it looks relatively small compared to the average size of a woman's baby bump around the same month as her.

"You are glowing, I must say!" Mrs. Monteavida complimented my wife.

"Thank you po. It's a roller coaster ride, honestly, but Enrico's there to help me," she said as she threw me a quick glance.
